Job Overview:The Production Operations Manager is responsible for the overall direction, guidance and safety of a manufacturing department. This includes organizing and directing all departmental related activities on all shifts, including providing leadership, direction and facilitation of production line teams, maintenance, quality and materials.
Shift & Schedule: This is a full time position on an off shift covering both 2nd & 3rd shift operations.
Flexibility for additional coverage outside of these hours, including potential weekends and/or holidays, is also required as needed.
ResponsibilitiesDirect all departmental related activities to ensure the timely execution of the production schedule to meet production and service goals.
Ensure a high level of customer service while meeting inventory management goals, including raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
Ensure a safe and orderly working environment, free of slip/trip hazards; maintain compliance to meet/exceed all site and regulatory requirements.
Deliver cost and performance; complete projects & assignments on-time, and according to plan.
Develop and execute a capital plan for the department.
Manage all departmental quality related activities to insure a high level of food safety and product quality.
Manage all departmental maintenance activities; maintain equipment in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
Have a track record of successful continuous improvement initiatives and results, with a focus upon lean manufacturing and 5S.
Identify, recommend and execute continuous improvement initiatives in the production operation including process, machinery, method and material changes, in support of plant goals.
Develop and streamline procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas.
Create and implement improvement plans for the overall operation.
Develop departmental personnel by assessing performance, setting goals, providing coaching, counseling, & training, while supporting Continuous Improvement.
Manage all employee related issues within the department.
Effectively manage departmental staffing requirements in accordance to budgetary and contractual requirements.
Communicate goals and objectives, apply company policy, coach, administer discipline, and ensure positive employee relations.
Build bench strength through active development of direct reports.
Support and provide training to improve capability of technicians.
Schedule and track standard preventive manufacturing measures and prioritizes plant maintenance opportunities.
Guide and support technicians in trouble-shooting production equipment when necessary.
Experience coaching and leading cross-functional teams, including team building, understanding motivation and negotiation techniques and providing work direction to others Well organized, high energy, data driven, and results oriented.

Second Shift Manager

Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, directs and coordinates function, operations and response of the Second Shift Supervisors in accordance with Metro Parks' rules and regulations. Consistent with established protocols and plans, supervises and coordinates response to all operational issues that arise during late afternoon and evening hours.
Coordinates activities with other on-duty supervisors (Assistant Park Managers, Park Managers, Managers of Park Operations, Deputy Director) and other managers as needed.
Supervises the Second Shift Supervisors and performs management functions including scheduling, assigning work, evaluating performance, approving leave, recommending and conducting training, recommending and administering discipline, relationship management, and addressing employee concerns. Ensures that direct reports are abreast of the latest knowledge and techniques within areas of operational specialization.
Has functional supervision of Park Rangers, including full-time Commissioned and part-time, seasonal and intermittent Non-Commissioned. Directs the implementation of established policies, procedures, protocols, and responses to emergencies and other incidents occurring during assigned shifts.
Establishes priorities, projects, and workflow; evaluates effectiveness of operations and initiates adjustments as needed in regards to procedures, time frames, reporting, etc.
Performs and directs Park Ranger activities. Serves as a Field Training Officer. Monitors the safety or park visitors and employees.
Welcomes visitors and provides information and assistance.
Enforces rules and regulations.
Responds to accidents and emergencies and renders First Aid.

Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age.Education/Experience: Associate's degree natural resources, ranger services, parks and recreation, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Extensive experience working with the public in a park-like setting, preferred. Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Language Skills: Ability to communicate effectively and courteously through speech and in writing with coworkers, supervisors, local law enforcement agencies, and the general public on a daily basis.
Team-Oriented: Works on a team. Outstanding customer service, communications and interpersonal skills.
Attendance: Being present at work is an essential function of the position.

Work Environment: While performing the regular duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions, patrolling the parks. The employee spends a portion of the time working in the shop and/or office. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The ultimate responsibility for our Shift Supervisor is to ensure that the store is whipping up Whoppers and keeping our customers happy and full! The shift managers are the chiefs of their team, and both inspire their staff and resolve issues by using excellent organizational, communication and developmental skills. Having the knowledge of the team members' responsibilities and keeping inventory are crucial to success in this position. Completing paperwork, managing financials and issuing/delivering deposits also come with the job. The Shift Supervisors lead the daily shifts and wrap up the store at the end of the day.

Requirements:
What you bring to the table:
* Experience in supervisory role in food service or retail environment preferably in a quick serve restaurant (QSR).
* Managers must be at least 18 years old.
* Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of the restaurant and its customers.
* Ability to lift, carry, stack, push or pull heavy objects. Stand and walk constantly for entire shifts. Maneuver through compact spaces safely and operate restaurant equipment.

Shift Manager Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law and will be discussed during the hiring process. The expected starting compensation ranges for new hires in this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:
* Salary range: $8.00 to $20.00 per hour for all other geographic areas not listed below
* State of Maryland: $16.00 to $17.00 per hour
* State of New York: $15.50 to $17.00 per hour
* New York City: $17.00 to $18.00 per hour
* Cincinnati, OH: $14.00 to $15.00 per hour
* Toledo, OH: $14.00 to $15.00 per hour
