Prepares purchase requisitions or work orders to obtain needed tools or parts for the installation. Coordinates staff and assist in set-up die and equipment assembly and debugging for installations to ensure on-time completion. Investigates and resolves engineering related manufacturing problems. Compares dimensions of parts to blueprints, and resolve differences by revising or redesigning, utilizing 2D & 3D CAD tools (AutoCAD & SolidWorks) and Inventor Programs. Assists with satellite plant installations, as needed, including set-up, assembly, problem solving and follow-up to project completion. Analysis of data, evaluation of results and creation of technical reports, recommending further actions to be taken Working on cross disciplinary teams to solve manufacturing problems in the field Reporting project progress to Senior Management Working with Tool and Die shop to develop tooling packages for production equipment Other duties as assigned by management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar engineering area 3-5 years manufacturing engineering experience Experience with mechanical design, gear design, cam design, and/or food packaging machinery design Proficient with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor design software Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Background in Lean/6-Sigma preferred Prior leadership experience preferred Understanding of the use of statistics in manufacturing Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills required High level of independent thinking and resourcefulness to develop and propose solutions to problems Ability to interface with various levels of staff from peers to management, to production employees PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
