Mittera is currently seeking Press Supervisor to join our growing team! The Press Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating jobs with press team members based on the press schedule. Oversees press operations and verifies printed material to ensure conformance with job specifications. This will be a rotating shift on a 2-2-3 schedule from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversees the daily workflow of the department
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Observe press operations and examine printed material to verify conformance with press run specifications to meet, and exceed, customer expectations, internal and external
Authorize quality of product once proofs are checked for ink coverage and density, alignment, and registration
Maintain positive communication within the pressroom on all shifts
Communicate effectively with all internal and external customers to ensure that all production requirements, schedules, quality, and final deliveries of our products are satisfactory
Coordinate staffing efforts to effectively meet all quality and production requirements without over staffing
Maintain and monitor the completion of all necessary records such as daily production and throughput, plate make over requests, maintenance requests, accident reports, counseling records, press production information sheets, and roll performance records, as assigned
Monitor press speeds, waste and labor
Communicate excess downtime to Scheduling department
Assist operators in coordination of Preventative Maintenance for presses
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities
High School Diploma or equivalent
3 - 5+ years of work experience gained through training in all phases of press work in the printing industry, but not limited to:
Knowledge of all pressroom procedures
Knowledge of general maintenance procedures
Good communication/interpersonal skills
Thorough knowledge of press operations and functions
Comprehension of production schedule
1 - 3+ years of previous supervisory experience
Thorough knowledge of press operations and functions
Mechanical ability preferred
Must be able to meet stringent deadlines.
Must be well organized, able to respond quickly to changing situations, computer literate, quality conscious and customer oriented, and be able to identify and meet customers' needs and requirements.
Must be organized and have the ability to plan, prioritize and follow through on projects assigned with minimal supervision required
Must be able to interact and cooperate with press team members and show an enthusiastic/positive attitude
Must have ability to communicate (verbal/written) with press team members and all levels of management
Must be flexible to cover other shifts when needed
Must have ability to function in a computer-based environment
Physical Requirements
Requires use of proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling and bending
Pushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs
Requires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity and coordination
Requires near visual acuity
Requires working around and operating departmental equipment
Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility
Requires the ability to function in a professional manner under stressful circumstances
Work Environment
This position requires some work in an office environment and some work in a production environment. The office environment has a low noise level with ambient temperatures controlled by heating and air conditioning and PPE is not required. The production environment has a loud noise level may require hearing protection, ambient temperatures are warmer in the summer and colder in the winter, and may have exposure to vapors, chemicals, dust, and odors. Other PPE may be required related to specific tasks.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
This position is part of a team responsible for general production activities throughout different seasons during the year. This will include but is not limited to, receiving seed, field activities such as planting and detasseling, conditioning/treating seed, warehousing/shipping, and equipment maintenance. Operating and overseeing critical machines and operations are central to this position while communicating production needs and improving processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality, customer service, and professionalism
Assist and lead safety programs
Supervise shifts as needed
Commit to a safe working environment and practices
Assist in overseeing and/or training seasonal workers and full-time employees
Assist in field operations and scouting
Operate husking equipment, seed dryers, and/or shellers
Operate and calibrate seed conditioning/treating equipment
Operate packaging equipment
Warehouse finished product and supplies, including checking for accuracy
Maintain and troubleshoot plant equipment
Complete all paperwork/reports in a timely and accurate manner
Cross-training in all plant operations
Assist with housekeeping and preventative maintenance of our equipment
Responsible for projecting a positive image AgReliant Genetics and acting in accordance with the Company's Core Values
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Work experience in seed/agriculture industry preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as individually
Strong attention to detail
Ability to obtain a Certified Pesticide Applicator License and Commercial Driver's License as needed
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and common PC-based software
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work assigned hours and shifts including overtime
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions
