Your Role The Production Manager oversees the planning and execution of all photo and video productions, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to high creative and operational standards. Serving as the central point of coordination for the Production team, this role translates creative vision into actionable production plans and leads all logistical aspects of production, including budgeting, scheduling, crew and vendor management, locations, permits, and on-set operations. The Production Manager proactively identifies risks, solves problems in real time, and maintains efficient workflows across pre-production, production, and post-production. This role reports to the Executive Producer and works closely with the Photo Art Director, producers, editors, and Project Managers. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, hands-on Senior Production Coordinator or Production Manager with experience producing both field and studio photo and video shoots. They are a proactive problem solver who is comfortable jumping in wherever needed to support the team and keep productions running smoothly. The candidate brings a strong network of production contacts, experience managing crews of 20+ people, working knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets, and excellent communication, organization, and negotiation skills. Responsibilities and Duties In coordination with Producers and the Photo Art director, schedule, staff and organize shoots. Prepare budgets for shoots, track expenses and create cost reports. Manage shoots/projects from start to finish, keeping productions moving. Forecast and track monthly budgets for the Creative Team. Negotiate deal terms with crew and models. Ensure all paperwork is completed and up to date. Log and track usage terms for any assets with limited terms. Be present on set for shoot days, ensuring a safe working environment, helping organize schedules, call-sheets, crew meals, logistics, etc. Track production performance, identify efficiencies, and continuously improve processes Ensure the studio space is well-maintained and organized. Maintain organized archives of assets, contracts, releases, and production documentation This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time and to lift, carry, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Qualifications and Skills Experience: 5+ years of experience in photo and/or video production, production management or creative operations. Prior experience working as a Production Manager or Production Coordinator for a production company or agency with significant time spent on-set. Proven experience managing multiple productions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of photo and video production workflows, equipment, and post-production processes. Excellent budgeting, scheduling, and project management skills. Proficiency with production and project management tools (e.g. Asana, Frame.io). Bachelor's degree in film, photography, communications, digital media, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Interpersonal: Team-player, hard-working, and goal-oriented. Adaptability - Able to quickly pivot when issues arise, remaining solution-oriented. Calm leadership under pressure - positive and easy-going attitude and on-set presence. Detail oriented and meticulously organized. Respects each and every role on set and in the office, from PAs to department heads. Ability to address issues professionally and resolve conflicts without escalation. Additional Preferred Experience and Skills: Experience as a photographer or videographer, basic understanding of camera functions and lighting. Knowledge of usage rights, licensing, and talent agreements. Hours and Compensation The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $125,000-$140,000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.
