Your role: Our Production Supervisors are responsible for supervising day to day production operations. Candidates will supervise 25-50 hourly personnel on the production floor. Essential Responsibilities include: Participates in manpower planning and staffing decisions. Participates in succession planning and talent development. Conducts probationary and annual performance appraisals of each department employee and recommends performance increases, retraining, transfer, or termination. Communicates Production Department goals to departmental personnel. Works with other departments to maintain a high value on employee relations, teambuilding, employee motivation, and a safe workforce. Maintains good housekeeping in the department Reviews daily production schedule for the department to plan work and personnel assignments for the shift. With Production Manager and appropriate staff personnel, studies operations where cost standards are not being met to determine causes and apply corrective measures. Reports promptly to department managers and production planning department when delays occur, estimates time of delay and when operations will be resumed. Works with Teamleaders, production personnel, and Quality Department to ensure the production of quality finished goods. Works with the Quality Department to ensure production process meet IATF 16949:2016 standards. Participates in and supports the principles of Open Book Management. Participates in developing and managing Production Department's annual budget. Supervises and directs personnel on shift in performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed mostly in a controlled atmosphere. Some exposure to harsh conditions for periods of time is possible. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear.
