The Fabricating Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of machines and personnel associated with finishing activities including folding, gluing, waxing, stripping, and bundling. The Fabricating Supervisor is responsible for managing activities on the assigned shift in an efficient and safe manner.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Coordinate activity with the Production Manager and Superintendent to plan and manage shift work orders, ensure quality requirements, and assure an even flow of work through the fabrication department to increase up-time and minimize unscheduled downtime.
Schedule work, coordinate production activities, provide direct oversight of employees, approve time records, communicate and implement company policy. Engage in employee development activities, make recommendations on employee hire, promotion, and disciplinary action.
Maintain a clean, safe and injury-free work environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are understood and executed by all employees.
Conduct employee training on all equipment, protocols, production standards, safety regulations and waste control on an ongoing basis.
Ensure completion of departmental operations within guidelines of continuous improvement policies.
Supervise efficient operation of equipment including the inspection of materials, products and equipment to detect and/or prevent malfunctions.
Analyze fabricating performance, identify opportunities, make recommendations for process and equipment improvement, establish goals and execute strategy.
Participate in production meeting and provide updates as needed.
Verify the quality of the jobs and investigate any customer complaints regarding finishing quality.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED.
2+ years' of corrugated manufacturing experience.
Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Some college or manufacturing training.
Previous supervisory experience with training, teambuilding, performance development, and conflict resolution.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of standard corrugated and packaging manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures including continual improvement processes and safety practices.
Knowledge of the machinery, methods and procedures in the department under supervision.
Working knowledge of manufacturing systems including shop floor software.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details, deadlines, and requests.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead and communicate with production team and management.
Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects and/or requests concurrently.
Solid analytical and mechanical ability.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Previous work experience as a member of a team, or a strong understanding of the importance of open communication and information sharing between team members.

EDUCATON:

Knowledge of Infection Control and JCAHO Standards knowledge of asepsis; surgical techniques, or instrumentation, and Sterile Processing patient care equipment.
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with subordinates in providing effective leadership.
Has specialized knowledge and technical expertise with sterilization and operating equipment.
Competent computer skills.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) required within 18 months of employment (OR) Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from the CBSPD required within 18 months of employment.

Summary of Job Duties
The primary responsibility of the Extruder Technical Team Leader is to keep the machines running at the highest level of proficiency as possible. POSITION SUMMARY

* Coach team members on all shifts to work together toward common goals, support high inter-shift communication and mutual respect
* Lead staffing management and planning for an area (i.e. overtime, flow to work, contract labor, etc.
* Ensure communication of shift safety, quality, schedule adherence, cost, and OEE metrics daily to the production teams
* Lead continuous improvement activities that support the department's goals while building the team's capabilities
* Collaborate with support functions (i.e. facilities, engineering, IS, security, cafeteria, employee training center, medical center, MHG, SHE, Quality, Human Resources, etc.) as needed to coordinate activities and conduct issue resolution
* Interpret and ensure compliance of all company and HR policies and procedures
* Assist in the resolution of employee conflict and discipline issues as they occur while ensuring consistency and fairness
* Oversee and ensure the training and development of the team
* Ability to represent manufacturing internally and externally in a professional manner, both strategically and tactically
* Ability to pull cross-functional teams together to resolve complex supply chain issues related to manufacturing goods
**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING:**
* Bachelor's degree in related field or relevant military experience considered in lieu of degree requirement
* 5+ years of relevant work experience, including 2 years of people management or experience in leading teams
* Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States

* Experience in the FMCG (Fast moving consumer goods) industry
* Demonstrated experience leading within a continuous improvement environment

* Solid organizational and time management skills
* Demonstrated ability to deliver effective coaching and mentoring
* Ability to identify actionable, business critical goals that can be influenced by business work teams
* Ability to convert goals into action-oriented initiatives and to execute accordingly
* Demonstrated ability to lead cost savings initiatives and productivity improvement opportunities
**JOB REQUIREMENTS:**
* 1st shift with ability to work on other shifts as needed
* Available to support 24/7 continuous manufacturing operations
* Working conditions may involve lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds
* Requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to, eye safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toed/safety toed work boots
* Exposure to noise and subject to regular bending, twisting, and reaching
* This position is not eligible for remote work
* This position is not eligible for domestic relocation
