The Machine Learning Engineer II will be a member of the Learning and Active Perception (LEAP) group in AV's MacCready Works division and support the development of a variety of innovative computer vision capabilities (object detection, classification, localization, and tracking) and other image/video analytics for defense and commercial applications. These development efforts require a range of skills and tools across traditional engineering, computer science, and mathematical disciplines including but not limited to data management, computer vision, machine learning, optimization, and deep convolutional neural networks. This position will span multiple stages of the development process including requirements gathering, algorithm design, prototyping, test and evaluation, and validation and verification testing. This specific role also involves on-site support for experimentation and fielded systems requiring a significant amount of extended travel, both domestic and international. Typical day in the life of an Operator: You'll be directly involved in the manufacturing process and operate automated injection molding machines, making high-precision plastic parts for a variety of word class clients. These parts are put into medical and industrial devices that are used by thousands of people around the globe every day. You'll use precision measuring instruments, visually inspect products and report surface and dimension defects, and sometimes package them using a variety of tools, including robots. This position works Monday-Friday; 6:00am-2:00pm. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Reads, understands, and accurately follows Job Ticket Instructions, completes job ticket paperwork and obtains proper approvals. Sets up and adjust layouts to match data proofs, diagnose and troubleshoot errors and start up and shut down the production line; if changes are made ensure proper approvals are performed. Check machine for proper working order and make adjustments if machine is not functioning correctly; call Maintenance if needed Verify job duties with production assistants; provide verbal instructions to tasks that needs to be done differently, ensure understanding of expectations Ensure the product meets customer specifications and perform quality checks as needed Communicate efficiently and effectively with teams and completes end of shift production reports.
