GENERAL SUMMARY Entry level production worker duties. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Various Production line duties on production line(s) may include manual handling of product, visual quality inspection of product and/or packaging, following Good Manufacturing Practices, housekeeping, adhering to acceptable safety practices, following supervisory instructions, may be scheduled on different lines as per production needs, other duties as assigned, etc. Includes cupping and packaging duties in a conveyor belt setting which involves repetitive motion of hand, arm and shoulders and standing all shift. Cupping Line duties require dropping/separating paper cups and using other hand to fill each with correct number of cookies. Must be able to use both hands and rotate sides of belt. Regular or routine lifting up to 25 pounds, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. 2:50 am to 11 pm, will work most Sundays MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED (NOT REQUIRED): preferred to have production line manufacturing experience or to have food service and food handling experience COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The starting rate for this full-time, hourly position is $20.00. Understand written customer specifications and mill flour to meet customer specifications. Safe and efficient operation of all transferring equipment and systems. Sample and analyze milled flour. Analyze flour with lab instruments. Safely operate lab analytical instruments. Lockout, open, unstack, repair, and restack sifters. Measure levels of flour and feed in storage bins with tape measure. Responsible for sanitation efforts such as recording sanitation duties, performing sanitation duties, and completing work orders assigned to them. Interact with scheduler, elevator, blender, quality team, maintenance, and packer to communicate workflow, milling schedule, and equipment issues. Monitor flour additives, ingredients, and other supplies. Required to assist with the upkeep and quality of bins and silos. Responsible for consistently conducting visual inspections of the FPZ transfer sifter. Set up and monitor finished package weights to ensure that bags conform to specifications. Set up the packer scale weights prior to a run. Check the precision of the check scale prior to the start of the run. Continually check the finished package weights throughout the run. Ensure that the finished product is bagged, sealed, and palletized in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion on structurally sound pallets. Pull samples of product, both prior to packaging, and throughout the run, and run analysis on samples on equipment located in mill control room. Perform the metal detector checks on a scheduled basis set by the quality department and notify supervisor of any substandard conditions. Pull samples prior to the run (or at the startup of packaging) to help ensure conformity to specifications. Samples pulled during a run will normally be one sample per grade, once conformity is verified. For government contracts, one sample will be taken per pallet, for weight and lab testing. Keep bags available and ready to be used, including bags labeled for special customers. Attach labels to bags as necessary. Clean and sanitize all packing and loading areas (including hopper area above packers). Feed any product that did not meet specifications back into the system to rework. Assist in the training of new and existing personnel in any packaging functions/positions. Qualifications On-the-job training is provided. Safety training is required and provided by the company in group settings, as well as individual computer-based training. Ability to work unsupervised. Job Description Vericast offers a year-round TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED, BRIGHT, CLEAN manufacturing printing team-based environment. * Hours: Monday -Thursday 2:00PM - 10:00PM * Hourly Pay Rate: $17.50+ DOE * $1.75 hourly shift differential * $0.50 hourly wage increase eligible after 90 days * Paid Breaks & Lunch Production Operator Responsibilities: * Operate various production equipment monitoring overall performance, efficiency and quality. * Troubleshoot system performance and quality problems, correcting them and stabilizing performance as they occur. * Replenish materials ongoing as materials are depleted. * Maintains production, efficiency and quality records * Other duties as assigned. Process Quality (PQ) Responsibilities: * Perform quality audits * Research orders, including applicable error orders * Run/compile reports * Calibrate/Clean readers as needed * Late orders/rush orders Qualifications Physical Requirements / Working Conditions * Manufacturing. WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH * Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. * Practice and promote safety in such way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate PPE. * Exercise and encourage core values including but not limited to; developing self and coaching others by inspiration and empowerment * Responsible to maintain and monitor efficient operation of all production processes. * Make routine operation and preventative maintenance inspections of process equipment, report all unusual conditions, and prepare work orders for maintenance when required. * Operate Front end Loader, Skid Steer, forklift various Screening and crushing systems, and other equipment. * Monitoring and recording material inventories. * As directed, lubricate, inspect, adjust or make repairs to process equipment. * Completion of the Area Safety Inspection, Mobile Equipment Checklist and any other documentation as required. * Operate and perform duties at rail car loadout. * Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * Education: High school diploma or equivalent required * Experience: Production or other plant related experience strongly desired * Knowledge of the aggregate manufacturing process and equipment a plus * Must have basic computer skills * Must be able to read, write and speak English * Strong work standards and attendance record * Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and work in both hot and cold environments. * Must be able to work in awkward positions for short periods of time. * Must be able to work in confined areas and not have a fear of heights. Additional Requirements: * Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
