Key Responsibilities

Key Activities
* Transfer completed products into containers of various sizes and types (1 qt cans to tankers). Identify and apply the correct information on the containers and or proper documents while following all fill off and safety procedures
* Fill off approved batches ranging from 1 gallon to 5000 gallons into the proper shipping containers
* Measure the amount of product into the correct container for proper yield, by weighing and/or measuring the weight of the material in the containers with the tools provided
* Once containers are filled and all openings are closed and tightened, check for leaks around the ring, bungs, and chimes
* Properly complete the batch ticket as instructed, label all containers, and number them in the sequence they were filled off
* Once the batch ticket has been approved and signed by the supervisor, send the containers to the shipping department along with the batch ticket
* Properly dispose of filters; wash out the pump; wash the tanks, filter housing, and hoses with the appropriate cleansing material
* Properly label and stage all cleaning material in proper areas
* Properly label and stencil all containers to satisfy customer and shipment requirements
* Perform area housekeeping duties per expectations
* Other duties as needed to complete production process
Job Requirements
Prior Manufacturing experience desired and Prior experience working in a paint manufacturing facility preferred!

The major responsibilities of the Production Operator are:
Required to begin production as scheduled (start of shift).
Ensures all manufacturing equipment is safe to operate and all guards and stop buttons are functioning prior to beginning production.
May complete other check lists or operator production sheets prior to and at end of production.
Manufactures product ensuring that all finished goods meet customer requirements in quality, quantity and proper packaging and labeling.

JOB TITLE: Merrow Machine Operator
PAY: $15.85/hour

REPORTS TO: Sewing Department Supervisor
SUMMARY: The Merrow machine operator is responsible for operating a single-head merrow machine to sew thread over edges of various patches as part of production process which creates a secure thread edge for a finished look that stops fraying of a patch and operating an automatic 2X2 machine to sew the outside perimeter of a patch.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to draw thread through guides, tensions, and needles and adjust tensions, threads, and bobbins according to fabric type.
Ability to center material to prepare for processing on merrow and 2X2 machines.
Ability to observe merrow and 2X2 machine operations to detect defects in stitching that indicate machine malfunction and notify supervisor of malfunction.
Ability to use various cutting implements such as nippers to cut excess material or thread from the finished product.
Must be dependable and self-motivated with a positive attitude.
Ability to work independently with little supervision and communicate well with supervisor and team leaders.
Ability to maintain speed and efficiency and be fully committed to excellent customer service.
Ability to maintain department production demand numbers.
Ability to accurately count and follow written or verbal directions.
Pay attention to the quality of both the starting product and the finished product.
Continually utilize visual awareness to operate equipment, read information, and have discernment for colors and detail.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Summary: Set up and operate various pcs. of equipment in the Production area. Follow work order instructions closely to ensure a quality product is produced. Read and follow work order instructions, completing tasks based on assigned priorities. Operate production equipment following safe work procedures. Employee will be expected to be willing and capable of running multiple pieces of equipment in the production area and work where most needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Perform all assigned procedures in an efficient manner while observing all safety rules.
Read and understands work orders, job instructions, and perform all quality control procedures.
Set up and operate equipment following all mandated Standard Operating Procedures offering suggestions for improvement.
Operate machines in the Press Dept. to include the IS300, Color Stream, and the MICR.
Operate machines in the inserting department to include FPS, MPS inserters, folders and DRS software.
Verify that components match work order sample, instructions and that there are enough quantities of supplies to complete order needs.
Obtain Lead/QC signoff and copy of output sample for first piece produced prior to processing order.
Verify materials are correct when opening new cartons.
Match output to sign off sample consistently throughout order to ensure accuracy.
Monitor inserter for doubles and miss-feeds, proper sealing, fold quality and DRS verification.
Monitor printed product for print quality to include barcodes, print placement, and streaking.
Troubleshoot machines seeking assistance in a timely manner to ensure efficient processing.
Report product or order issues that may delay processing to Lead and/or Production Supervisor and offer suggestions to ensure job standardization.
Ensure all job ending totals match work order instructions including DRS Summary prior to releasing order from machine.
Accurately complete and submit all required daily paperwork.
Clear all left-over materials from machine after each order and prior to starting a new.
Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area at all times.
Notify Lead/Supervisor when assigned tasks are completed.
Avoid unnecessary down time.
Perform all daily machine maintenance.
Assist in other departments and perform other duties assigned.
Report any injury to immediate supervisor.
Understand and comply with applicable company policies (i.e. Attendance, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Associate Handbook etc.)

What You'll Be Doing
* Monitor bottle indexing on conveyor systems through the filling process
* Monitor and document all Quality-related items (Hourly updates on production boards, Component verification to ensure correct product is produced, Bottle and label visual inspection for accurate packaging of product, verifying date code labeling correctness, Product verification, Weight checks on filled bottles)
* Strong communication skills regarding machine problems and quality requirements
* Ability to start and stop equipment and identify basic mechanical issues & adjust machine setups (Fillers, cappers, labelers, case packers, case erectors, palletizers)
* Follow all safety requirements including using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment - PPE (safety glasses, required footwear, hearing protection, hand protection, correct lifting methods, etc.)
* Support all changeover requirements of commodity products (changing caps, line clearance, assisting mechanics with changeovers)
* Make tank switches and understand & execute the valve change process
