is responsible for being apart of the hatcheries Embrex processes. This may include pulling eggs from setters, running them through the clear egg remover, pulling rots, ensuring that each egg is getting vaccinated properly and that all eggs get placed in the correct hatchers.
The position is typically scheduled but not limited to Friday, Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday 5:00pm to 3:00am.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -Is expected to partake in the hatchery quality control program, animal welfare, biosecurity and safety programs.
-Be able to comply with the company's low transfer crack assessment expectations.
- Be able to ensure that the correct eggs are being pulled and placed into the correct hatchers.
-The ability to work in an environment of 100+ degrees for long periods of time and withstand unpleasant smells.

May be ask to learn how to navigate MTECH program.
-Position is responsible for maintaining detailed documentation on transfer or processing.
Record keeping for vaccine tracking and egg placement throughout the transfer process and into the hatchers and/or setters.
-Monitors all machines/automation and equipment for proper operation and document findings, taking action where indicated.
Makes adjustments as necessary or informs Supervisor/Maintenance when equipment performance is deficient and unable to identify immediate action.
-May be asked to help in creating and implementing training guides with new team members and/or refresher training for current team members.
-May be asked to cross train in other hatchery positions.

Spartanburg is the largest KDRP manufacturing and distribution location. The site will operate on the foundational principles of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance); leverage the principles of Lean manufacturing and harness the power of High Performance Teams. All associates at the Spartanburg site will have accountability to a functional business unit in addition to the full site operation. The site will run on state of the art enterprise IT and manufacturing execution systems with highly automated processing, packaging, and material movement equipment.
**SUMMARY:**
As a **Production Technician III/ Business Unit Leader** , you will be responsible for maximizing the operating performance of a Mini Business Unit within the Spartanburg Site. In this role, you will be expected to have an in depth understanding of the electrical, mechanical, and software systems within our packaging and/or processing equipment. This is a hands-on role that will require you to operate equipment, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement across multiple pieces of equipment. Working within a highly automated TPM-based environment, the Production Technician III will be expected to execute standardized processes by following standard work, perform layered process audits, and facilitate structured problem solving to drive waste out of the system and promote a culture of continuous improvement. As a Production Technician III working in a High Performing Team based environment, you will be looked upon to train, mentor, and guide the work of other technicians within your MBU, ensuring that they understand how to keep themselves and those around them safe as you collectively deliver world class cost, quality, and service performance. + Lead team meetings at the line and business unit boards; leverage process to escalate and resolve issues

Operates line controls, often using both hands simultaneously.
Assists receiving Crane/Material Handler in unpacking coils to be loaded onto the coating line.
Check coils for passivation.
Inputs and retrieves information to and from the AS/400 main frame and the IPM systems
Operations Support
Retrieves and transports bare coils and maintains flow of metal to lines by safely operating cranes, fork lifts, and upenders without damaging material or equipment.
Trims, packages and bands finished coils according to customer specifications using proper skids, bands, pads, and wrapping materials.
Inspects coils and identifies and reports defects.
Reads and interprets production schedules.
Accurately identifies proper skid and package specified on schedules.
Reads and accurately records coil weights, order numbers, etc.
Shipping Clerk
Identify, schedule, and ship materials according to specifications.
Loads or unloads received or shipped coils onto or off of trucks
Schedules shipping appointments with dispatchers and logistics companies, updating on an outlook calendar
Qualifications
As the selected candidate, you will need a high school level reading and writing, visual acuity to read labels, meters, gauges, documents and instructions, in addition to the following:

Reports coil identification information to proper personnel in proper sequence and keeps the records associated with this position.
Operates the entry operator stations to properly charge coils into the coating line according to expectations and set procedures.
Monitors material during uncoiling and leaving the entry section, along with the total plant activities.
Accurately calculates footage and/or weights for specific job.
Effectively runs coating line tension leveler and makes adjustments to achieve appropriate sheet shape.
Communicates verbally and in writing with other departments of the plant concerning plant operations.
Operates line controls, often using both hands simultaneously.
Assists receiving Crane/Material Handler in unpacking coils to be loaded onto the coating line.
Check coils for passivation.
Inputs and retrieves information to and from the AS/400 main frame and the IPM systems
Operations Support
Retrieves and transports bare coils and maintains flow of metal to lines by safely operating cranes, fork lifts, and upenders without damaging material or equipment.
Trims, packages and bands finished coils according to customer specifications using proper skids, bands, pads, and wrapping materials.
Inspects coils and identifies and reports defects.
Reads and interprets production schedules.
Accurately identifies proper skid and package specified on schedules.
Reads and accurately records coil weights, order numbers, etc.
Shipping Clerk
Identify, schedule, and ship materials according to specifications.
Loads or unloads received or shipped coils onto or off of trucks
Schedules shipping appointments with dispatchers and logistics companies, updating on an outlook calendar
Qualifications
As the selected candidate, you will need a high school level reading and writing, visual acuity to read labels, meters, gauges, documents and instructions, in addition to the following:
Ability to read and comprehend written materials such as schedules, SOPs, work rules, etc.
Ability to effectively communicate with all members of team.
Ability to safely operate small manual and electric hand tools.
Available to work up to 12 hours per day on rotating shifts, that could include weekends and holidays.

**During your rotating shift as a Production Technician, you will**
+ Use product recipes to produce blended resin systems in multiple blend vessels including the PSM process.
+ Have knowledge of raw materials and the hazards, locations, etc. of those raw materials and knowledgeable of the process equipment.
+ Use interface screens to the process control system to add exact quantities of chemicals to match product recipes, follow step by step batch instructions, and take samples as required.
+ Load drums, totes, cylinders, and tank trucks with the final product.
+ Unload raw materials via rail car to bulk storage, tank truck to bulk storage tank, tank truck to tote, and box vans of drums & totes.
+ Follow standard operating procedures to unload and check-in various raw materials for production.
+ Be an integral part of the site's safety culture. This individual is responsible for certain areas of the plant from a safety and housekeeping perspective. Operator I will also be required to master a certain number of standard operating procedure.
+ Train in Department of Transportation (DOT). This individual must be able to understand hazard communication and DOT OSHA requirements for chemical transportation, storage, and handling.
+ Understand how to use personal protective equipment to perform all necessary job functions within the process.
+ Be able to become a certified forklift driver.

Monitors quality and specifications incoming stock for flute, size; score position, color, label, label direction, print, and print direction and condition.
Monitors quality and specifications of plates and drawings.
Mounts cutting dies, printing plates
Pulls rolls per the factory order.
Sets side gates, belts, stacker attachments per factory order
Places machine in time.
Sets caliper for board and printing plate(s).
Maintains information in the computer system in a timely manner.
Makes adjustment needed to ensure product being produced meets all quality standards.
Reports any inability to meet quality standards or setup standards to machine center
Reports any maintenance problems to the machine center supervisor and assist as needed in repair of machine center.
Prepares for next order while monitoring current production, as time will allow.
Performs quality checks on product before and during production to ensure quality standards are met and maintained during production.
The Operator will also perform any other duties as assigned.
