As a Mechanically Trained Operator, you'll play a key role in ensuring smooth operations of our high-speed packaging and production equipment. Salary: $22.50 - $24.90 per hour (plus 2nd shift premium of 1.50 hourly and 3rd shift premium 3.00 hourly)

What We're Looking For:
1-2 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in high-speed packaging

Stripping forms by pulling finished cured goods off of forms and loading onto trailer.

**This role in summary**
This position will operate and support specific automated equipment related to an assigned area. Each area has machines with industrial computers for monitoring faults, troubleshooting, and overall process operation. The Production Technician will be responsible for keeping the flow of the equipment moving. This includes reacting to faults and jam ups that cause production stoppages and inspections/gaging. Equipment and surrounding areas will be kept clean and operating correctly. Preventative/Autonomous maintenance will be performed on a routine basis.
**Your responsibilities will include**
+ Technician will order and load material into machinery when applicable. Technician will monitor any applicable flow racks and/or kanban storage areas for potential part shortages.
+ Technician will monitor the equipment and keep it running. Responsible for production output levels and quality. This includes understanding targets and monitoring digital dashboard information.
+ Responding to/resetting of faults and machine stoppages and clearing of jam ups is required. Understanding the fault lights is a must.
+ The Technician is responsible for part inspection, part quality and documenting information.
+ Lubrication and inspection of various stations, pallets, components, etc. is required.
+ Identify and escalate safety, quality and nonstandard process related issues.
+ Technician will work closely with AST support personnel by highlighting any repeat issues or concerns.

Your Role: As a Machine Operator you will produce quality products according to provided specifications and equipment.
This job description lists major areas of responsibility and additional job activities may be added at any time.
Your Shift Hours:
1st Shift: Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM CST
2nd Shift: Monday-Friday from 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM CST
3rd Shift: Sunday-Thursday from 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM CST
Your Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to operate numerous types of equipment with high productivity and quality levels
Abide by all safety policies and procedures to create a safe working environment for all employees
Safely operate stamping presses, assembly and machining equipment
Proficient in using PLC (programable logic controller), loading and unloading machines, detailed inspections, ability to use measuring devices and gauges to check tolerances within several thousandths, and final assembly and packaging (box construction, label placement and taping) of products
Ability to work on a raised platform safely
Ability to operate a computer
Perform repetitive operations, according to provided work instructions
Use fixtures, jigs, hand tools as necessary, to ensure proper position and/or movement of components and parts
Be alert to detect obvious defects and take necessary measures to correct
Proactively work with team members to meet production goals
Other duties and projects as determined by business and production needs
Perform in process Quality checks as required
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School diploma, or equivalent, preferred
Display great attention to detail
Requires ability to follow oral and written communication skills
Ability to read and understand provided work instructions

Full-time Description
Converting Machine Operator
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm OR 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm Compensation: $17.40/hr + shift differential if applicable
Do you want to work in a hands-on environment where you will work alongside others to make products used in well-known companies? At AFC you will be able to assist other workers in the fabrication process, you will get the experience of working in a manufacturing company, and be able to learn while on the job. As a Converter, you will operate a machine to scan and rewind various lengths of material such as PTFE and silicone-coated fiberglass cloth and other PTFE and silicone-coated products and slit materials into various lengths.
What You'll Do
Mount roll of material on machine shafts, re-roll and inspect material while rewinding, and measure material to desire lengths.
Start machine and observe flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and winding.
Responsible for maintenance and some repairs of rewind machine.
Operate slitter, placing correct dimensions and specification into the computer.
Fill orders for zone tape, sponge, and tubing.
Clean and maintain work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
Inventory management of materials and finished goods in the converting area
Correctly completes all inventory transactions in the ERP system.
What You'll Bring
One year of machine operator work experience and/or training preferred.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
High school diploma or GED not required, but preferred
Must be able to train on 1st shift for up to 4 weeks.
