Production truck driver job description

Purpose and role of job:
Responsible for delivering raw materials and removing waste from the production lines. Also will assist tending machine that compresses scrap material, cardboard, plastic, and any other loose material to bale into bundles.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment as a driver and pedestrian.Completes daily forklift required inspections Follows necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations/guidelines.Delivers raw materials from raw material staging to the production lines. (Materials are electronically transferred from staging to the lines through the use of a Radio Frequency Gun (RFG).Removes bins of scrap from production lines and delivers them to the baler room.Delivers empty bins to the production lines Carries materials to the baling machine and places into the compression chamber.Threads tie bands around bale and twists or clamps ends of bands to tighten.Removes bale from machines and transports to storage place, weighs bale, and records weight.Lines compression chamber of baling machine with paper, burlap, or other covering before baling.Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.Loads and unloads waste trailers.
Education and experience requirements:
Ability to communicate orally and written.Licensed forklift operator.Ability to operate in a fast paced environment.Ability to work in a team oriented environment Ability to use computer equipment.High School diploma or equivalent.Manufacturing experience preferred.Forklift experience preferred.SAP system knowledge/experience preferred
Work Environment:
Work in an environment with the potential for exposure to dust during certain tasks.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and bending over throughout a 12-hour shift.Occasional climbing, kneeling, and reaching overhead during shift.Occasional pushing and pulling with the arms and legs throughout shift.Occasional lifting or carrying boxes up to 50 lbs.Constant light and strong grasping throughout shift.Operation of forklifts and baler during shift.Daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area.Required participation in a daily pre-shift warm-up routine.

**Summary**

We are a growing Motion Picture Transportation Rental company for the entertainment industry searching for an experienced Driver to join our team. The primary job duty is to drive Company vehicles for delivery and pick up of Company equipment, and to perform other runs as needed. Duties include loading and unloading of equipment. Drivers must act in a professional manner at all times while working and representing Sunset Studios Production Services The driver is responsible for operating the Company vehicle safely and complying with all applicable traffic laws and the Operation of the Company Vehicle Policy.

**What You'll Do**

+ Drive Company vehicle to set to deliver and pick up sanitation equipment in an assigned geographical area.

+ Inspect the vehicle for any maintenance issues (pre and post-inspection). If there are any issues report them to the supervisor immediately.

+ Maintain the cleanliness of the exterior and interior of the company vehicle

+ All units upon return to the yard need to be dumped and all trash needs to be removed

+ Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

**What You'll Need**

+ High School graduate or equivalent job experience.

+ Must possess and uphold a valid driver's license with a good standing driving record through employment.

+ Towing Experience preferred

+ Must be able to navigate smartphone applications and use Google Maps (GPS)

+ Strong knowledge of the English language.

+ Must be available on weekends

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**

+ Frequently move/traverse

+ Ascend/descend steps to enter and exit the trailer restroom

+ Constantly positions self to bend, lift, stoop, reach and lift

+ Must be able to lift/move/carry up to 25-30 pounds

+ Must be able to stand and walk for an entire shift and perform repetitive motions.

+ This position works both indoor and outdoor

+ Ability to workaround chemical cleaning solutions

PBNA $20.20 per hour

Unloads transport trucks delivering finished products to the warehouse and stores it in its designated warehouse space. Loads empty pallets and plastic storage flats/shells for the transport truck to return to the manufacturing location. Position loads pre-made, multi-product pallets on to local delivery trucks. Position will likely have housekeeping duties such as recycling plastic, mopping/sweeping, and ensuring cleanliness standards). Must be able to pass Forklift Driving Skills test.

This position requires lifting cases weighing from 20-45 pounds repeatedly throughout a long work period. Also requires carrying and lifting cases while reaching, bending, climbing, walking/standing to move product through warehouse. Position may include periodic weekend and/or holiday work.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* Operate a forklift in a safe and orderly manner
* Receive and store incoming items according to warehouse standards
* Maintain a safe and orderly storage arrangement for all items handled
* Maintain cleanliness in assigned area (e.g. yard and warehouse)
* Reload route trucks promptly and safely
* Sort and store partial cases of products returned on route trucks
* Maintain records of daily check list (pre-trip inspections)
* Comply with GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICES, safety, audit and food safety standards
* May be required to work with production equipment and associated technologies
* Meet performance/productivity standards
* Regular, reliable, predictable attendance

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

* 18 years or older; 21 years or older if CDL Required
* Pass the physical capabilities test (if applicable)
* Must be able to pass Forklift Driving Skills test
* Valid CDL license (if required)
* Pass DOT physical and DOT Road Test (if applicable)

HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:

* Working in a high-speed manufacturing environment (e.g., team-oriented, deadline driven, high performance demands, fast-paced, etc.)
* Driving a forklift (e.g., performing basic operations such as driving forwards, driving backwards, lifting and lowering boom, maneuvering in tight areas without damaging product, etc.)
* Working with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets (e.g., pulling and placing pallets on/off vertical product racking systems and trucks, maximizing storage by stacking products vertically, etc.)
* Working with standards of operation (e.g., OSHA requirements on minimum/maximum speeds, signaling, putting products in appropriate areas, etc.)
