As a part of the Hostess Plant Production Team, you are responsible for several bakery manufacturing activities. As an Operator 1-Production and Utility Production worker, you must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, be able to communicate and work effectively in a team structure and be flexible in work assignments within the operator and production category, which can include Pan Setter, Feeder, Packer/Carton, Packer/Cases, Shipping Stacker, Handler, Sanitor, Receiver, Palletizer, Mixer, Fryer, Oven Operator, Wrap Operator, Depositor, Scaler, VFFS, Pearson, Vari Straight Right/Left, Enrober, Forklift, Yard Dog. Pay: Operator 1-Production: $20.94 per hour, shift differential $.50 per hour
Production Utility- $19.51 per hour, shift differential $.50 per hour
Work Arrangements for Operator 1-Production:
100% Onsite (12-hour shifts)
1st Shift (6am-6pm)
2nd Shift (6pm-6 am)
Rotating days, average 2-4 days a week
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as needed, including weekends.

Essential Functions of an Operator 1- Production Worker
Responsible for setting up operation of bakery equipment/manufacturing line, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products per production guidelines.
Ensures compliance with Production/Packaging procedure/practices as well as inspecting all areas within one (1) line/equipment for any operational and/or mechanical issues.
Reports all equipment issues to the supervisor or manager as soon as possible.
Complete and submit reports throughout the day regarding production.
Visually inspects product for quality and quantity.
Monitoring runs and performing basic troubleshooting on our Bakery equipment.
Support quality control programs to ensure production procedures follow best practices of food safety and quality standards.
Understands and complies with all safety procedures that apply to daily operations.
Work safely; follow proper lock out/tag out procedure where applicable.
Maintains a safe and clean environment by adhering to safety policy and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) procedures.
Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, coworkers, etc.
Adheres to safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation.
May perform other duties not listed.
Essential Functions of a Production Utility Worker
Works as a helper on a production line in various roles. (i.e., Helper, Indexer, Feeder, Packer, Catcher, etc.)
Will perform various assigned manual labor tasks to: grasp, lift, move, place, and stack items relating to the production processes assigned.
Feed, catch and monitors continuous / repetitive steps on production line.
Support quality control programs and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) procedures
Visually inspect product to ensure procedures follow best practices for food safety and quality standards.
May assist with cleaning and sanitation of equipment and environment pre- and post-production.
Reports all equipment issues to the supervisor as soon as possible.
Understands and complies with all safety procedures that apply to daily operations, example; follow proper lock out/tag out, wall prevention, required PPE, etc.
Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, coworkers, etc.
May perform other duties not listed.
Tools and Equipment
All tools and equipment which are required to be used by the employees shall be supplied and kept in repair by the Employer at no cost to the employee. These items must be kept on the premises.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
1-2 years of Mechanical and/or technical skills required for Operator 1-Production role
Ability to rotate workdays throughout the week including weekends,
Proven track record of good attendance.
Capability to work well in a team environment and be willing to help solve problems and implement solutions.
Willingness to flow to the work to meet the needs of the business.
Speak, write, read and comprehend English
Additional knowledge, skills and experience that would make someone successful in this role:
