Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Design
Conduct detailed residential yield studies and develop conceptual site plans.
Assist with site layout, grading, and the design of systems like stormwater management and sewage.
Develop preliminary utility concepts and precise lot plans that form the foundation of our communities.
Work closely with Simple Life's expert engineering consultants and participate actively in design charrettes, contributing creative solutions and technical insights.
Technical Execution & Support
Utilize expert-level skills in CAD and Civil 3D to create detailed project plans, technical specifications, and calculations.
Ensure all project designs and systems are in strict compliance with regulatory requirements and our high technical standards.
Take ownership of advancing Simple Life's internal CAD standards, including layers, naming conventions, title blocks, and block libraries to improve efficiency.
Oversight & Management
Supervise construction activities, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
Serve as a key point of contact with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) regarding utilities.
Expertly manage the permit application and tracking process, assisting with documentation and reviewing project documents for completeness to ensure timely approvals.
Manage project resources and schedules, coordinating with project managers and stakeholders.
Quality Assurance
Implement quality control measures to ensure projects are built to required standards.
Inspect sites and address technical issues as they arise during construction.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university, or a comparable degree. A Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred but not required.
Experience: A minimum of two years of professional experience in civil engineering, with a focus on land or site development projects.
