Production

These development efforts require a range of skills and tools across traditional engineering, computer science, and mathematical disciplines including but not limited to data management, computer vision, machine learning, optimization, and deep convolutional neural networks. This position will span multiple stages of the development process including requirements gathering, algorithm design, prototyping, test and evaluation, and validation and verification testing. This specific role also involves on-site support for experimentation and fielded systems requiring a significant amount of extended travel, both domestic and international.
Duties
• Support development of computer vision and machine learning (ML) algorithms capable of object detection, classifying, localizing, and tracking objects of interest from a variety of stationary and mobile sensor platforms with the primary purpose of real-time automated target recognition (ATR)
• Perform visual imagery data science to inform data collection, data labeling, and data selection for training deep computer vision ML algorithms, train the algorithms using the data, and validate data selection and algorithm design through a series of purpose-designed experiments. This includes:
o Analyze ML algorithms to solve a given problem and rank them by their success probability on new data
o Set objectives and develop models that help achieve them, along with metrics to track their progress
o Select appropriate datasets and data representations
o Analyze errors of the data, model, and design strategies to overcome them
• Write and test software to support the integration of machine learning algorithms into aircraft (such as autopilots, payloads, or other functional components) or other systems

Position consists of manufacturing components in accordance with specifications and written procedures. This position may include machine operation, manual production using hand tools, visual inspection, physical measurements, and packaging finished product. This position requires the ability to work with small delicate components using a high degree of dexterity and accuracy.
3rd shift: Monday through Friday, 12:00 am - 8:30 am
Essential Duties and Skills:
Ability to load and unload material from automated equipment with little set-up.
Maintain clean, safe and orderly work environment.
Ability to interpret and follow verbal and written work orders.
Operate various machines throughout the day.
Clean and de-burr various product groups as needed.
Use various measuring tools as required.
Offer suggestions to improve/enhance processes.
Report any problems, defective materials, questionable conditions or unsafe conditions to supervisor or leader
Provide high quality and timely service to all internal customers.
Listen to customer requirements and take prompt, appropriate action that exceeds expectation.

Position Scope:
Working within a high-production industrial environment, the Production Operator is responsible for meeting departmental production, quality, and safety standards. Upon training within the department, the Production Operator will be responsible for independently reading and verifying the shop order and then setting up and completing the manufacturing process, which may include: printing equipment, automated equipment, small hand tools, viewing product through a microscope, and fine assembly work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Read and accurately understand the shop traveler (job order, instructions, and customer specifications)
* Set up and operate different types of machinery according to the department processes and each job's requirements
* Consistently evaluate product for quality, verifying departmental procedures are completed accurately
* Record defects, document quality data, and work within the quality management system. Immediately escalate issues to the production technician, management, or engineering
* Read, record, and report required product data accurately on both the shop order and within computer applications
* Acquire production materials, set up the production area, and maintain a clean and safe environment
* Follow all safety training and procedures as directed by the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), chemical handling, and hazardous waste
* Responsible for immediately reporting all accidents, near misses, and safety concerns
* Cross train on operations and equipment within the area
* Ability to understand and effectively complete at least 1 departmental sub-process
