Employees in this role will receive a plastic drum weighing up to 20 lbs with their arms and upper body and transfer it to a worktable placed across from the production machine. Employees will then utilize a knife/blade and hammer to remove excess plastic from top and bottom of container. Employee must be able to properly and safely maneuver the drum as it is received, turned on its sides, picked up and transferred to a pallet. Drums can measure 3.5 feet in length and require upper body mobility to receive, transfer, turn, and stack containers safely and without injury. The employee is responsible for correctly following standards of quality and specifications in the machine. Needs to follow SOP to properly, safely and accurately follow all steps from when the container is dispersed until it is palletized. Primarily responsible for assisting in the packaging of products for internal and external use and assisting in changeover with other production teammates. Places seal carriers at both ends of the element using calibrated tools such as ring gauges, core tube extension gauges, etc. 4. Performs product inspections using air lines, leaf adhesives and visual spot-checking for bubbles on product; makes necessary repairs. Rolling Operator: 1. Operates element rolling table to assemble components into a spiral configuration, changing membrane leaf adhesive drums as required. 2. Ensures all glue lines, side and end seals are applied during manufacturing process. 3. Some positions may verify glue ratio, including proper placing, accuracy, consistency and diameter of glue lines in accordance to Manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures. Trim Operator: 1. Verifies gauges have current calibrated sticker prior to using hand tool to prevent damage to product. 2. Confirms trim measurement using calibrated hand tools such as ring gauges, trim gauges, etc. 3 Operates standard product trimming machine, including cleaning blade before using it. Caging Operator: 1. Operates machine to seal the cage outerwrap to process separation products, conducting a visual inspection of elements for damage. 2. Seals cage outerwrap to feed spacer on the end seal glue lines. 3. Trims leaves manually using scissors eliminating flaps and exposing proper placement of serial number. APPLIES TO ALL: 1. Loads/unloads product from manufacturing transport equipment on to appropriate machine or production equipment for tasks. 2. BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION: Assist in the set-up, run, and monitor any one of the machines used for the production of filament winding vessels. Ensures quality product is being produced in a timely fashion. 1. Performs activities in the production of filament wound pressure vessels which may include assisting in the set-up winding, oven load, extraction, cutting, sanding, prep, milling, port install, troubleshoot, repair (as required), hydro-test, paint prep, paint and packaging. 2. Performs and ensures quality inspections of raw material and wound vessels. 3. Prepares and ensures production and department documents such as roll tickets, run log, maintenance log, utilization sheets, and sample work-up sheets are complete and accurate. 4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production parameters, such as roll lengths, tension, weights, and formula usage, in accordance with company procedures and quality standards. Troubleshooting Identify and address minor equipment issues such as material jams, misfeeds, or sensor obstructions. Reset equipment following standard operating procedures when safe to do so. Adjust basic machine settings (e.g., speed, feed rate, alignment) to maintain quality and efficiency. Verify that safety guards, sensors, and interlocks are functioning before resuming operation. Check and correct product alignment or orientation issues during production runs. Notify maintenance or supervision immediately when problems exceed basic troubleshooting scope. Document issues, adjustments, and downtime events in production logs. Quality Assurance - Food Safety / GMP Requirements Personal Hygiene - Wash and sanitize hands before starting work, after breaks, and any time contamination could occur. PPE Compliance - Wear required hairnets, beard nets, gloves, and other PPE at all times in production areas. Glove Changes - Change gloves any time you change tasks, pick anything up from the floor, touch something dirty or non-food contact, or when gloves become torn, soiled, or contaminated. Clean Equipment & Work Areas - Ensure all tanks, mixers, pumps, and tools are cleaned and sanitized before use. Prevent Cross-Contamination - Store raw materials, in-process, and finished products separately and follow allergen control procedures. Sanitation During Production - Wipe up spills immediately, keep floors and work surfaces clean, and dispose of waste properly. No Eating, Drinking, or Gum - Follow GMP rules by only consuming food or drink in designated break areas. Batch Documentation - Record lot numbers, weights, temperatures, pH levels, and other critical control points (CCPs) accurately and on time. Monitor Equipment Settings - Check mixing speeds, heating/cooling temperatures, and hold times to match product specifications. Inspect Product Quality - Watch for contamination risks such as foreign objects, off-color, off-odor, or separation. As a Production Worker, your primary role is to handle the finished product. This position is responsible to inspect, measure, and prepare for shipment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION: Prep Units with dunnage, according to customer specifications so that the units will not be damaged by banding. Must be able to read the dry end schedule. Make sure all products being produced is of acceptable quality standards with a goal of 100% perfection. Check, monitor and enforce all quality standards including proper unitization and tagging procedures. Operate all Sheet line controls. Make sure machine and work areas are clean. Before the start of the shift inspect sheet line area for cleanliness and proper stocking and report findings to the current control room operator. Must also make sure areas are clean and properly supplied at shift changeover to ensure the success of the oncoming shift. Keep the dunnage area clean, neat and stocked. Respond to the bander when there are issues. Make sure quality checks are being properly performed through the shift. Work with Shipping to correct all issues in the rework area in a timely manner and ensure that no rework issues carry over into the following shift. Follow all safety and company policies and procedures including maintaining good housekeeping, reporting any issues, accidents or incidents immediately; must complete online safety training each month as assigned. Inform Control Room Operator of Overrun, Underrun or scrapped sheets/units. When the machine stops because of a Dry End issue, should make sure that the line is clear so that the machine can start up after issue has been corrected. Provide on the job training as needed for new employees. The Dry End will always work as a team. Operators are expected to help each other out when issues arise.
