GENERAL PURPOSE This position is responsible for properly recognize the correct linen belonging to the account being processed. You must ensure there is no mixed, dirty, or damaged linen before feeding into the machine or hand-folding it. You must maintain a fast pace speed meeting company's expectations while practicing safety procedures. In addition, the Production Operators will help on making sure the machinery is working properly, by communicating with their leaders of any issues. Summary: Responsible for all activities involving tray packing and bagging of product according to customer specifications. Accurately and consistently weighs product trays for vacuum pack bagging. Key Responsibilities: * Assemble trays according to supervisor and lead instructions. * Pack trays to specific pack size to customer specifications. * Ensure scales are made properly each time before weighing trays. * Weigh trays accurately following customer or supervisor's specifications and instructions. * Place weighed trays following FIFO (first in- first out). * Check each tray for quality prior to bagging. * Ensure work station, knives, and trimming utensils are sanitized according to company specifications. * Adhere to GMP procedures and protocols at all times. * Communicate product or process discrepancies and potential discrepancies to Supervisor. * Perform other duties, as assigned. Qualifications * Prior experience with the utilization of food processing equipment, scales, and trimming utensils is preferred. * A high school diploma or GED is preferred. * Prior experience with food safety and sanitation procedures is preferred. Produces/assembles materials, parts, sub-assemblies, in-process goods, etc. in the manufacture of products. Ensures order requirements and quality standards are met. Work may be performed in a production line environment with items automatically moving past work stations on conveyors or may be performed in a work cell or fabrication environment. Performs a variety of repetitive assembly operations by hand and/or operates various assembly line or fabrication equipment in the assembly of filter products. 2. Inspects materials, sub-assemblies, and/or finished product ensuring compliance with established quality specifications. 3. Completes various forms of paperwork (i.e. production tickets, scrap tickets, transfer tickets, and product process record) as required. Uses computer system for activities such as scanning bar codes and accessing information. 4. Participates in product changeovers by moving parts to/from line and/or making minor adjustments to equipment. 5. Performs functions of line attendant, including determining production run requirements, transporting parts and materials between and within work centers and stacking cases of product onto skids for storage or shipment. 6. Follows safety procedures and safe work practices. 7. Cleans work area, picking up and properly disposing of scrap, trash, etc. and performs general housekeeping tasks. V. MINIMUM SELECTION CRITERIA Communication: Communicate with appropriate personnel about problems encountered while performing job duties. In-person interaction with co-workers and supervisors. Learning/Reading/Mathematical Comprehension: Perform basic math functions such as addition and subtraction. Learn and comprehend standard operating procedures and basic production techniques. Read and write to complete required paperwork and access information on the computer. Visual Requirements: Distinguish between various items for proper length, width, shape, color, and other characteristics. Motor Skills: Hand/eye coordination and finger/hand dexterity to perform a variety of highly repetitive assembly operations. Stand throughout the shift, although some operations may require sitting. Move to various work stations to perform assignments. Frequently/repetitively bend, push/pull and reach with hands and arms in standing and/or sitting position to assemble product, load parts, assist in changeovers, etc. Frequently lift up to 30 lbs. Work around moving conveyors. Environment: Work in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, possible temperature extremes, dirt, solvents, paper dust, etc. Dependability: Maintain satisfactory record of attendance and conduct.
