Purpose and Scope:
Pack and/or re-packs a wide variety of materials. Verifies the condition code of the item to be packed and reject those not meeting the release order requirements. Determines the type of pack required in accordance with information contained on documents and other packing and shipping instructions such as military standards, DOD Manuals, and regulatory requirements (HAZNAT, RAD). Reports to designated Lead, Supervisor or Manager.
Essential Responsibilities:
1.Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts, rejects, and disposes of material as per DLA regulations.
2.Ensures material is properly preserved/packaged/marked/labeled in accordance with Military Standards prior to releasing material to storage or shipping.
3.Selects proper size container and cushioning to be used from available stock to ensure protection against damage.

5.Read specifications and photographs as/if required in DLA contract.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Minimum three (3) months general work experience which will demonstrate ability to perform requirements of position. No specific experience required. High school diploma or GED required. May substitute experience for education at the rate of one year of general experience for one year of high school. Must be able to obtain license to use MHE within 30 days of selection. Packers who process material requiring HAZMAT Certification must be able to successfully pass training requirements. Position may require travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Shop environment in with hazardous equipment, moving MHE, obstacles and high volume of activity. Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds for short distances, stoop, bend, kneel, walk, have full dexterity, and correctable vision. Outside work in hot and cold or wet weather is often required. Work environment often has fumes or airborne particles. Noise level is loud. Protective devices are required to avoid injury.

This position is located on-site in Layton, Utah.

You'll perform a variety of processes-composite fabrication, resin infusion, assembly, mill operations, metrology, oven processing, and waterjet cutting-while applying your NDI Level II expertise to set up and calibrate inspection equipment, interpret results, and ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and specifications. The following essential job functions are performed as a Production Technician:
* Reads, interprets, and follows pass downs, work orders, isometric drawings, blueprints, work instructions and other technical and non-technical documents
* Assemble and fit aircraft structural parts and subassemblies
* Perform test fit and gap checks with high tolerances
* Performs countersinking activities
* Perform structural adhesive bonding preparation per product specifications and compliance programs
* Align, fit, assemble, connect, or install system components, using jigs, fixtures, measuring instruments, hand tools, or power tools
* Adjust, repair, rework, or replace parts and assemblies
* Layout and mark reference points
* Keeps work orders stamped, dated and organized
* Vacuum bagging in order to prepare parts for drop tests, de-bulking fabric, and infusion

* General sanding and finish work using grinders and sandpaper as needed
