Purpose and Scope: Pack and/or re-packs a wide variety of materials. Verifies the condition code of the item to be packed and reject those not meeting the release order requirements. Reports to designated Lead, Supervisor or Manager. POSITION DESCRIPTION This position is located on-site in Layton, Utah. Join our team as a Production Technician and put your skills to work in a dynamic, hands-on manufacturing environment. You'll perform a variety of processes-composite fabrication, resin infusion, assembly, mill operations, metrology, oven processing, and waterjet cutting-while applying your NDI Level II expertise to set up and calibrate inspection equipment, interpret results, and ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and specifications. Your precision and technical knowledge will help us deliver high-quality products that meet the most demanding requirements. The following essential job functions are performed as a Production Technician: * Reads, interprets, and follows pass downs, work orders, isometric drawings, blueprints, work instructions and other technical and non-technical documents * Assemble and fit aircraft structural parts and subassemblies * Perform test fit and gap checks with high tolerances * Performs countersinking activities * Perform structural adhesive bonding preparation per product specifications and compliance programs * Align, fit, assemble, connect, or install system components, using jigs, fixtures, measuring instruments, hand tools, or power tools * Adjust, repair, rework, or replace parts and assemblies * Layout and mark reference points * Keeps work orders stamped, dated and organized * Vacuum bagging in order to prepare parts for drop tests, de-bulking fabric, and infusion * Performs tabbing operations to work order specifications * General sanding and finish work using grinders and sandpaper as needed * Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition * Packages and crates parts for shipment, including shrink wrapping * Has knowledge of and ability to use common hand tools for assembly components per verbal, written, and drawing requirements * Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines * Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE * Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED * Three years (3) of professional assembly experience in complex assembly and aircraft frame assembly/maintenance preferred * Prior experience in composite or fiberglass fabrication and repair is preferred * Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections * Must have the ability to read, understand and follow work orders, written procedures, blueprints, drawings, and other technical documents * Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language ADDITIONAL INFORMATION * Wage range for this role is between $20 - $45 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. The Role: As a crucial part of our operations, you will be responsible for setting up and operating automatic or manual production machines, cutting sheet metal, and operating an annealing/brazing furnace, tower, or bending equipment according to blueprints and specifications. Your Responsibilities: * Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation. * Selects, positions, and secures dies, blades, cutters, and fixtures onto the machine using a rule, square, shims, templates, hand tools, and built-in gauges. * Positions and clamps stop, guides, and turntables; adjusts controls to set and regulate machining factors, such as pressure, adjustment rolls, blade angle, and machine speed. * Locates and marks bending or cutting lines and reference points on the workpieces, using instruments, such as rules and compass, or tracing from templates. * Positions work piece against stops and guides or align layout marks with dies or cutting blades. * Starts machine and observes operation to reposition workpiece, change dies, or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes; inspects or measures work using rules, gauges, and templates. * Pushes buttons on the control panel to start and activate automatic cycles of production machines. * Observe machine operations, material supplies, and the position of workpieces to detect malfunctions, needed supplies, or misaligned parts. * Performs routine preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled and required for TPM. * Works individually and as a team to develop and implement quality and efficiency improvements. * Conducts tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance; examines products or work to verify conformance to specifications. * May be required to cross train and demonstrate competency in all essential job functions of the department working at different workstations as production needs require. * Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships; training and teaching others. * Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area free of excess materials. * Support and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities.
