Job Description
The role of the Production Worker is to perform necessary functions to efficiently, safely, and correctly prepare and process raw material to prepare it for cooking, cut or package finished product in preparation for shipment to customer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Functions)
The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:
GENERAL
Follow daily production schedule and achieve specified goals.
Ensure product conforms to specifications.
Prevent and minimize rework and/or inedible waste.
May require working on taping machines, shrink wrap machines, pallet jacks, trash and recycling compactors.
Perform standard operating procedures of production and inspection functions as directed.
Successfully complete all necessary technical training and skills verification as directed.
Successfully complete all necessary soft skills training as directed.
Return from breaks in a timely manner; notify the lead or supervisor before leaving the department.
Accurately complete all necessary paperwork as directed.
Attend all department and company scheduled meetings.

Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
Suggest improvements to continuously improve the quality and efficiency of all support activities.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) training, along with company pre-requisite programs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), USDA Guidelines and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP's).
Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper disposition.
Keep record of products used to follow FEFO (First Expired - First Out)
Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
READY TO EAT (Packaging)
Count and place packages in appropriate caddies, maintaining accurate records, washing and sanitizing carts, racks, and trucks.
Handling finished product, placing it continuously in trays or assembly lines to be shipped to our customers
Making pallets by stacking boxes onto pallets, preparing the pallet with cardboard wrapping, manually shrink wrapping, and pulling/pushing pallets with manual pallet jack.
Minor Ingredient Handling
Minor ingredient handling and weighing
Temperature controlled ingredient handling (example: Culture)
Ability to follow recipes with 100% accuracy
Follow material return procedures
Recording of material information such as lot numbers, material movements, etc., both paper/electronically
SAFETY
Perform all duties within OSHA and company safety standards; LOTO, wear PPE and maintain safety equipment.
Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
Immediately report all incidents and deficiencies to the lead supervisor.
Ensure safety devices are installed and working properly.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Proven thorough understanding of one or two step instructions and deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Able to perform repetitive functions, attention to detail, must be able to perform duties with minimal supervision.

Additional Information
The pay range for this role is
$15.81 - $21.75
(Hourly). Actual wage will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Jack Link's Total Rewards package for Team Members. Other rewards may include annual incentive and program-specific awards. Summary:
This position involves the end-to-end handling of materials within a manufacturing
environment. The role requires a blend of machine operation (conveyors, palletizers), precise quality

Conveyor Operation- Employees must understand how to run foot controlled conveyors to stage the material and how the set the speed of the conveyors to get correct spacing of material before loading.
Operate Depalletizer - Employee must understand the procedure for setting according to the layers and height of the material on the pallet.
Operate the loading computer- the employee must determine the correct number of pieces to attach to each carrier bar to maximize efficiency and enter this number into the loading computer for each bar.
Racking Procedure- Employee must understand the correct method to secure the profile to a holding jig which is attached to a carrier bar.
Understand how to fill the Palletizer with spacers when needed.
Calibrate the Konica Minolta color meter, operate the meter, and how to input the standards into the meter.
Material Inspection - Check the color with the Konica Minolta meter, check the film thickness, check the gloss, and check for any visual defects.
Verify the piece count to match what was on the bar when loaded rejecting any pieces that do not meet YKK standards.
Operate the unloading computer - After the employee determines how many pieces were defect- free, enter this information into the unloading computer along with rejected pieces.
Operate Palletizer - Set the palletizer according to length of material to load finished material onto a pallet to send to the next process making sure spacers are between each layer.
Send loaded pallets with finished material on the Norcon conveyor to the Packing area.
Perform housekeeping duties at the end of each shift or when needed. (5S)
Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.
Utilize forklift to load and unload material from the production line
Assist in all scheduled maintenance activities for the department, including yearly shutdowns requiring mandatory attendance

Operate Depalletizer - Employee must understand the procedure for setting according to the layers and height of the material on the pallet.
Operate the loading computer- the employee must determine the correct number of pieces to attach to each carrier bar to maximize efficiency and enter this number into the loading computer for each bar.
Racking Procedure- Employee must understand the correct method to secure the profile to a holding jig which is attached to a carrier bar.
Understand how to fill the Palletizer with spacers when needed.
Calibrate the Konica Minolta color meter, operate the meter, and how to input the standards into the meter.
Material Inspection - Check the color with the Konica Minolta meter, check the film thickness, check the gloss, and check for any visual defects.
Verify the piece count to match what was on the bar when loaded rejecting any pieces that do not meet YKK standards.
Operate the unloading computer - After the employee determines how many pieces were defect- free, enter this information into the unloading computer along with rejected pieces.
Operate Palletizer - Set the palletizer according to length of material to load finished material onto a pallet to send to the next process making sure spacers are between each layer.
Send loaded pallets with finished material on the Norcon conveyor to the Packing area.
Perform housekeeping duties at the end of each shift or when needed. (5S)
Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.
Utilize forklift to load and unload material from the production line
Assist in all scheduled maintenance activities for the department, including yearly shutdowns requiring mandatory attendance

At YKK AP America Inc., pay is only part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $18.21-$22.16, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
