Production Technicians (Packers) are responsible for packing finished goods into cases, recording paperwork, changeovers and code checks. Responsibilities include keeping up with the pace of production, packing quality products, labeling boxes, and placing boxes on a conveyor as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
Removes packaged product from conveyor line and places packaged product into casing neatly and correctly.
Monitors packaged product for quality standards
Verifies that the date packaged is correct
Straightens product progressing along a conveyor line
Operates palletizing equipment
Conduct required periodic packaging integrity testing and weight checks, and metal detection using established validation methods
Ensure that the correct packaging materials are being used for the product being produced. Track and document machine/equipment down-time
Maintains counts of finished product
Assemble flat cardboard into box shape for shipping products
Tape boxes and manually transfer product to stacking area
Understanding/Performing different packaging configurations
Maintain ingredients and material in a First in First Out basis (FIFO)
Ability to multi-task and prioritize; strong time management skills with the ability to work without extensive supervision
Operate filler machine as needed
Assist with batching productions
Must follow and understand all employee safety guidelines, food safety and quality procedures and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices)
CIP, COP, and SIP before and after production
Assist in allergen monitoring programs
Sanitation/Housekeeping
QA monitoring and recording assistance
Troubleshooting
Batching & Processing assistance
Uphold SQF requirements including promotion of a strong & positive food safety culture
Active involvement in implementation, upkeep and continuous improvement of food safety as part of an interdisciplinary team

Comply to quality procedures concerning PMI quality program
Maintain the designated pieces of production equipment, machine, and surrounding area in conformance with good housekeeping procedures.
Apply 5S rules in daily activities
Analyze machine performances and equipment conditions and suggest improvements via problem solving and Lean methodology and tools (e.g. PDCA) and respecting Change Management procedure.
Propose ideas, participate and/or lead the implementation of solutions to improve the quality and/or efficiency of machines and products.
Provide all relevant information to the smooth running of production in/between teams, as well as to the support group and project managers in order to ensure optimal monitoring of the problems encountered and to share experiences and knowledge in order to continually increase competences and expertise
