Job description Opal Foods is currently accepting applications for the position of Case Packer for our Hathaway Plant in Neosho, MO. This position is responsible for placing egg cartons into cases while maintaining compliance with all company policies and governmental regulations. This position will also assist the Processing Plant Lead with other projects and duties as needed. During this process, the machine operator is responsible for verifying measurements, such as thread depth and correct taper (30%) After the threads are cut the operator tests the flange to make sure it screws onto the pipe properly. Key Responsibilities • Perform mechanical assembly, potting, soldering, and spot welding • Assemble products per technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and documentation • Conduct product testing using specialized equipment, such as: - Electronic volt meters - Helium leak test systems - Digital X-ray systems • Process electrodes (cleaning tabs, sorting defects, assembling cells, activation procedures) • Set up and program task-specific equipment such as laser beam weld systems • Execute detailed process procedures for all aspects of cell manufacturing and assembly • Operate specialized equipment including: - Winders, wrappers, filling systems - X-ray systems, stackers, welders - Activation systems, mixing and coating equipment - Calendaring, slitting, blanking, grinders, servo presses, hydraulic presses • Perform product quality self-inspections • Collect and organize process and product data from cell builds • Meet deadlines under pressure while following all safety practices and company policies Requirements • Must be a U.S. Citizen • High School Diploma required • Must be able to obtain ATF clearance (Energetic Devices Facility) • Preferred task-specific certifications (one or more): - Electronics soldering - Spot welding - Crimping - Laser beam welding - Electro-static discharge - DOT shipping/packaging - X-ray Level I or II - Brazing • Experience preferred in: - Manual or automated assembly equipment - Automated systems operation - Set-up and operation of automated pressing equipment & dies • Must excel in a team environment with a quality-first approach • Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and results-oriented mindset • Proven excellent attendance and reliability • Strong documentation, organizational, and time-management skills • Ability to handle multiple priorities with sound judgment • Must pass an extensive background check and drug screen (no felonies) If you have strong mechanical skills and thrive in a precise, technical production environment, apply today for this Production Tech. position. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Operating cutting and assembly machinery; stacking and cutting lumber; building pallets and crates. Requirements DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS Load and operate cutting and assembly machinery. Ensure equipment is operating efficiently and effectively, with high attention to safety. Check components for quality. Learn to identify wood species and grade of material. Read and interpret job orders. Must be self-motivated and meet the daily expectations of the supervisor. Use good judgment. Actions should ensure a safe and productive work environment, including housekeeping, for yourself and co-workers. Maintain an acceptable attendance record. Must be able to work in a team environment. Perform other duties that may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Manufacturing experience preferred. Experience with automation machinery, and air tools including nail guns and other manufacturing tools. Able to read and interpret job orders. Able to listen and communicate effectively with co-workers, customers and management, and respond to common inquiries or complaints. Able to apply basic mathematical concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to such tasks as job order verification. Able to use and read a standard and/or metric tape measure. Able to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Must be self-motivated and able to make limited and independent judgments based on given alternatives. Able to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret an assorted number of tasks or instructions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand 100% of the time. The employee is required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls in a fast pace environment. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear. The employee is required to use repetitive motions. The employee must regularly lift and/ or move up to 40 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and the ability to focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an indoor and partial outdoor manufacturing environment. The noise level is usually moderate to high and requires the use of hearing protection. The employee is required to wear PPE. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The work environment is structured, and lunches and breaks are regulated. Must notify supervisor or group leader when leaving work area.
