• With guidance from senior operators, learns and performs all operations on machines, operating equipment, and production fixtures.

Position Scope:
Working within a high-production industrial environment, the Production Operator is responsible for meeting departmental production, quality, and safety standards. Position Scope:
Working within a high-production industrial environment, the Production Operator is responsible for meeting departmental production, quality, and safety standards. Upon training the Production Operator will be responsible for independently reading and verifying the shop order, setting up and completing the manufacturing process, which may include: printing equipment, automated equipment, small hand tools, viewing product through a microscope, and fine assembly work.
2nd shift: Monday through Friday 2:30pm - 11:00pm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Read and accurately understand the shop traveler (job order, instructions, and customer specifications)
* Set up and operate different types of machinery according to the department processes and each job's requirements
* Consistently evaluate product for quality, verifying departmental procedures are completed accurately
* Record defects, document quality data, and work within the quality management system. Immediately escalate issues to the production technician, management, or engineering
* Read, record, and report required product data accurately on both the shop order and within computer applications
* Acquire production materials, set up the production area, and maintain a clean and safe environment
* Follow all safety training and procedures as directed by the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), chemical handling, and hazardous waste
* Responsible for immediately reporting all accidents, near misses, and safety concerns
* Cross train on operations and equipment within the area
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
* Ability to read and comprehend English written instructions, including manufacturing work orders, customer specifications, and shop control documents
* Quality centered mindset with strong attention-to-detail, mathematical, and technical aptitude

JOB SUMMARY
Under direct supervision, performs machine operator tasks as setting-up or shutting-down machines, prepares material for production loading and unloading on to machine or production equipment; maintains required level of output; monitors output by completing detailed quality inspections to ensure product meets customer requirements. Keeps accurate records and logs associated with production, measuring, quality, quantity and any other necessary record-keeping activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES:
Finishing Operator:
1. Confirms product does not exceed outer diameter dimensional requirements.
2. Verifies trim measurements using calibrated tools such as ring gauges, trim gauges, etc
3. Places seal carriers at both ends of the element using calibrated tools such as ring gauges, core tube extension gauges, etc.
4. Performs product inspections using air lines, leaf adhesives and visual spot-checking for bubbles on product; makes necessary repairs.
Rolling Operator:
1. Operates element rolling table to assemble components into a spiral configuration, changing membrane leaf adhesive drums as required.
2. Ensures all glue lines, side and end seals are applied during manufacturing process.
3. Some positions may verify glue ratio, including proper placing, accuracy, consistency and diameter of glue lines in accordance to Manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures.
Trim Operator:
1. Verifies gauges have current calibrated sticker prior to using hand tool to prevent damage to product.
2. Confirms trim measurement using calibrated hand tools such as ring gauges, trim gauges, etc.
3 Operates standard product trimming machine, including cleaning blade before using it.
Caging Operator:
1. Operates machine to seal the cage outerwrap to process separation products, conducting a visual inspection of elements for damage.
2. Seals cage outerwrap to feed spacer on the end seal glue lines.

Coordinate with maintenance or supervisors to address equipment malfunctions or material shortages promptly.

Work collaboratively with team members across shifts to meet production goals and maintain workflow continuity.

Documentation/ Data Entry
Complete production documentation accurately; data entry to log production data: work orders, machine usage, material inputs, productivity targets.
Verify that all materials, including formulas and UK rolls, match the specifications on the Work Order traveler and identification tags before use.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production parameters, such as roll lengths, tension, weights, and formula usage, in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.
Troubleshooting
Identify and address minor equipment issues such as material jams, misfeeds, or sensor obstructions.
Reset equipment following standard operating procedures when safe to do so.
Adjust basic machine settings (e.g., speed, feed rate, alignment) to maintain quality and efficiency.
Verify that safety guards, sensors, and interlocks are functioning before resuming operation.
Check and correct product alignment or orientation issues during production runs.
Notify maintenance or supervision immediately when problems exceed basic troubleshooting scope.
Document issues, adjustments, and downtime events in production logs.
Quality Assurance - Food Safety / GMP Requirements
Personal Hygiene - Wash and sanitize hands before starting work, after breaks, and any time contamination could occur.
PPE Compliance - Wear required hairnets, beard nets, gloves, and other PPE at all times in production areas.
Glove Changes - Change gloves any time you change tasks, pick anything up from the floor, touch something dirty or non-food contact, or when gloves become torn, soiled, or contaminated.
No Jewelry or Loose Items - Remove all jewelry, watches, and loose personal items before entering production areas.
Clean Equipment & Work Areas - Ensure all tanks, mixers, pumps, and tools are cleaned and sanitized before use.
Ingredient Verification - Confirm all ingredients, formulas, and packaging materials match the Work Order and are within expiration date.
Prevent Cross-Contamination - Store raw materials, in-process, and finished products separately and follow allergen control procedures.
Proper Storage - Keep all raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods covered and stored at required temperatures.
Sanitation During Production - Wipe up spills immediately, keep floors and work surfaces clean, and dispose of waste properly.
No Eating, Drinking, or Gum - Follow GMP rules by only consuming food or drink in designated break areas.
Batch Documentation - Record lot numbers, weights, temperatures, pH levels, and other critical control points (CCPs) accurately and on time.
Monitor Equipment Settings - Check mixing speeds, heating/cooling temperatures, and hold times to match product specifications.
Inspect Product Quality - Watch for contamination risks such as foreign objects, off-color, off-odor, or separation.
Report Issues Immediately - Inform the lead or supervisor of any quality concerns, equipment malfunctions, or deviations from the recipe or process.
Follow All SOPs - Adhere to written procedures for cleaning, mixing, processing, and packaging.
Participate in Training - Stay current with food safety, GMP, and HACCP training requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS
High School Graduate, with two years relevant training.
Through working knowledge of Warehouse operations.
