As an Extruder Operator in our Vinyl Extrusion division, you'll be at the heart of our manufacturing process-ensuring quality, safety, and performance every step of the way.
Responsibilities:
Operate 1-3 PVC profile extrusion lines to meet production and quality standards
Safely disassemble, clean, reassemble, and change over extrusion tooling sets using overhead crane tools
Perform visual inspections and take precise measurements using calipers to ensure product quality
Maintain a clean and organized work area-spray down equipment, sweep floors, and remove clutter
Complete reports on productivity, machine conditions, and finished goods using bundle tickets and work orders
Assist with packaging and forklift operations as needed
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent from a technical school or 6-12 months of related experience
Forklift certification
Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and procedure documents
Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, percentages, and bar graphs)
Problem-solving ability and comfort with detailed instructions
Tolerance for high-paced environments and multi-tasking scenarios
Physical Requirements:
Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 100% of the time)
Regular lifting: up to 10 lbs; frequent lifting: up to 25 lbs; occasional lifting: up to 50 lbs
Use of hands for handling tools and machinery
Visual acuity for close-up work, color recognition, depth perception, and focus adjustment

Some of your Responsibilities include:
Retrieves and transports bare coils and maintains flow of metal to lines by safely operating cranes, fork lifts, and upenders without damaging material or equipment.
Trims, packages and bands finished coils according to customer specifications using proper skids, bands, pads, and wrapping materials.
Inspects coils and identifies and reports defects.
Reads and interprets production schedules.
Accurately identifies proper skid and package specified on schedules.
Reads and accurately records coil weights, order numbers, etc.
Loads or unloads received or shipped coils onto or off of trucks.

Qualifications

Perform package changeovers.

Thoroughly complete all quality and operational paperwork in a timely manner.
Track pallet numbers and record them correctly on the QA inspection sheet.
Verify all products and product components match the scheduled runs and current specification sheet.

Recommend suggestions to your Lead and/or Manager to increase efficiency and drive results.
Verify all safety guards are in place before starting any piece of equipment.
Escalate critical issues to the Leads and Shift Supervisor as needed.

Ensure food safety, quality, and SQF practices are always followed, notifying the immediate supervisor of any food safety and/or quality issues.

THE OPPORTUNITY
As the result of an internal promotion. we are currently looking for a motivated Mining Production Leading Hand to join our Mining Production department.
Reporting to the Mining Production Supervisor, the Mining Production Leading Hand is a key role, responsible for facilitating the safe and efficient daily mining activities as well as the successful of execution of mining production and development projects.
This is a permanent full-time role which operates on an 8:6 7:7 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Mining:
Ensuring the mining face is set up for safe mining and compliance to PLS procedures.
Ensuring the direction of mining is in line with the correct extraction of clean ore that minimises ore loss and dilution.
Work with the survey and geology teams to coordinate the timing of mark ups and drop in/lift guidance to not impact production.
Ensuring floors at dig units/loading bays are on correct grade.
Ensure TBMs are always present.
Ensuring the dump locations are set up, safe and compliant.
Liaising with production co-ordinators and engineers to understand the dump progression requirements.
Works in the field to reduce hang time, reduce queue time to keep trucks moving by directing people and equipment movements where required.
Development:
Set up and maintain traffic management in all work areas to be complaint to PLS procedures and aligns with industry standards.
Monitor and maintain road signage and delineation, ensuring cleanliness, compliance, and proper storage.
Ensuring drill pattern compliance for windrow heights for separation to HME and pit edges.
Ensuring drill pattern floors are suitable for drilling and blast personnel on foot.
Ensuring drill and blast access ways are positioned to minimise vehicle interaction.
Liaising with Geo Techs to ensure final walls are scaled to a high standard with no rework.
Managing the rock breaker movements between the ROM and in pit.
Facilitate and execute projects such as new haul road construction, go lines, fuel bays, land clearing, walking the LUC with operators, topsoil relocation.

ABOUT YOU
As an experienced Mining Production Leading Hand, you will ideally have:
Proven experience in a relevant leadership role involving open-cut mining operations and development projects.
Proven experience in with selective mining processes in a hard-rock open-cut mining environment.
Strong knowledge of mining equipment, processes, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
Familiarity with WA DMIRS guidelines, industry best practices and WHS risks.
S26 Statutory Supervisor qualification.
Effective communication, leadership, and project management skills.
A proven track-record of achieving production targets in mining operations, as well as reducing cycle times and improving efficiency metrics.
Current WA Driver's Licence: HR preferred.

**Summary**
This job exists to ensure product quality and production levels are achieved and sustained for the packaging equipment on the assigned line(s). This includes providing electronic and mechanical maintenance, operation, sanitation, troubleshooting and repair of all equipment in the Packaging Area from the distribution system to the LGVs. This position may also assist with the operation, electronic and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of other equipment throughout the facility.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Maintains Company standards for safety, quality, food safety, sanitation and GMPs.
+ Provides troubleshooting, repair and support on the equipment, instrumentation systems and supporting equipment including most mechanical, some electrical and some electronic aspects.
+ Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs. This includes operating equipment to verify operational efficiency.
+ Must be able to drive a forklift and assist with tote management as needed.
+ Utilizes computer and computer programs to communicate, document, and track shift information and ensures that all documents and reports are completed accurately in a timely and efficient manner.
+ Operates and monitors equipment within the assigned Zone, including, but not limited to, the distribution system, scales, baggers, seal detection, inspection equipment (metal detectors, X-rays and bag/case weighers), case packers, case erectors, case settler/sealer, glue distribution system, tapers, coders/ labelers, flap detectors.
+ Operates and monitors equipment in the Packaging Area including, but not limited to, distribution system, decline conveyor, metal detectors, x-rays, tray formers, case erectors, check-weighers, film shrink wrapper.
+ Performs required quality checks and sampling (bag/case weights, audit check-weighers, metal detector, X-ray, packaging workmanship, etc.) and ensures that they are conducted in compliance with established procedures and specifications.
+ Ensures that metal detector checks and all other required checks (x-ray, bag weights, bag/case integrity, etc.) are conducted and recorded in the appropriate location in a timely manner.
**Typical Education**
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
