Employees in this role will receive a plastic drum weighing up to 20 lbs with their arms and upper body and transfer it to a worktable placed across from the production machine. Employees will then utilize a knife/blade and hammer to remove excess plastic from top and bottom of container. Employee must be able to properly and safely maneuver the drum as it is received, turned on its sides, picked up and transferred to a pallet. Drums can measure 3.5 feet in length and require upper body mobility to receive, transfer, turn, and stack containers safely and without injury. The employee is responsible for correctly following standards of quality and specifications in the machine. Needs to follow SOP to properly, safely and accurately follow all steps from when the container is dispersed until it is palletized. As a Production Worker, your primary role is to handle the finished product. This position is responsible to inspect, measure, and prepare for shipment. To learn more, please visit *********************** WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE This job contributes to Evolution Fresh success by ensuring that all production equipment is properly cleaned and that the facility meets all Food Regulatory Standards * Responsible for detail cleaning of processing equipment including, production utensils, tanks, conveyors, overhead pipes, cooling units, walls, floors, drains, ceiling etc. * Responsible for maintaining outside waste area and perimeter * Must use the 7 steps to effective wet wash during cleaning to maintain Food Safety and Pest Control * Must comply with all company and quality policies and chemical and safety procedures * May be required to assemble and disassemble processing equipment * Work in a timely manner to return production areas and equipment back to production * Responsible for transporting trash and other waste for disposal * Able to communicate problems or concerns with appropriate personnel * Wear all proper protective equipment during sanitation cleaning * Ability to learn equipment systems or use HMI screens to stop, start, and purge equipment WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * High School/GED or one to two years' experience in related field or combination of both education and experience * Required to lift up to 50 lbs * Must be flexible with schedule, as shift times could change, weekends and overtime may be required or part of the normal work schedule ADDITIONAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Knowledge of GMPs, Food Safety and Sanitation Procedures * Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Standard Cleaning Methods * Willing to learn and adhere to proper procedures in safety when working with moving machinery * Willing to accept change and work in a team-based environment * Understand Lock out tag out procedures * Experience in Food Manufacturing a plus * Must have good attendance * Excellent oral & written communications skills * Good planning & organizational skills * Ability to make decision / good problem-solving skills * Great listening skills and can follow instructions * Ability to work in a team environment * Ability to use chemicals (soap, sanitizers, acids) safely * Knowledge of sanitation equipment and tools PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * May be required to become certified in forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, or electric pallet jack certification PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Perform repetitive tasks: stand during most of the shift, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and crouching, climbing up/downstairs and ladders * Work in cold and wet environment (varies; approximately 40 degrees) WHAT WE OFFER plus more! Requirements EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION/LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent, required. Thrift store, warehouse, assembly line or restaurant experience, a plus. WORKER KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES: Fluency in Spanish, both verbal and written, a plus. Ability to demonstrate a strong work ethic. Perform in a fast-paced environment and possess strong organizational skills. Ability to determine the value of donations. Must exhibit strong customer service skills. Clear communication skills, both written and oral. Excellent time management skills and detail oriented. Ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment. Must be an effective team member.
