Transportation responsibilities include: advancing to the next resident if previous resident is not ready (notifying therapist when returning to department), ensuring that resident's feet are on the foot rests when applicable, ensuring resident is in correct wheelchair by checking name tag on back of wheelchair, ensuring appropriate seat belt or seat alarm is in place, ensuring oxygen tanks have sufficient oxygen and notify nursing and /or therapy when low, transports one resident at a time, and upon completion of therapy session returns resident to unit, nursing station or dining room, if requested. Do not return resident to their rooms unattended unless instructed.
Escorts independently ambulatory residents to the rehabilitation department when requested.
Provides additional physical help for patient transfer and safety needs under the direct supervision of a therapist or therapist assistant. Assistants do not perform clinical tasks reserved for licensed therapists or therapist assistants.
Maintains cleanliness and safety of the rehabilitation department's physical environment and assigned equipment.
Oversees maintenance of equipment in accordance with infection control safety guidelines.
Responsible for maintenance and replenishment of daily needs of clean linen and other commonly used items. Returns used/soiled linens to housekeeping per facility protocol.
Completes assigned clerical duties, such as computer data entry, photocopying, filing, answering the phone, retrieval of therapy related documentation and other paperwork.

The Vulnerable Children in Sub-Saharan Africa Program (VCSSA Program)
The Helmsley Charitable Trust funds holistic programs to help ensure the well-being of children and families in remote communities in sub-Saharan Africa. We learn from the communities themselves what they need to thrive. Building resilience is at the core of our grantmaking. We work with rural communities in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, and Zambia.

The first, increasing access to quality healthcare focuses on maternal and infant health outcomes, fighting neglected tropical diseases and strengthening healthcare ecosystems. Position Summary
The Helmsley Charitable Trust seeks a Program Officer (PO) to directly support the Vulnerable Children in sub-Saharan Africa Program Director within an evolving grant portfolio that aims to identify and support high-impact interventions to improve the health and livelihoods of children, their families, and their communities in target countries within sub-Saharan Africa. The Program Officer will assist the Program Director with the continual development and implementation of a multi-million-dollar annual grants program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The VCSSA Program Officer will support the Program Director and Trustee with all aspects of developing and implementing the VCSSA strategic plan, including responsibilities for grant and relationship management, program development and monitoring, and internal and external engagement.
Grant & Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact and relationship manager with grantees.
Manage the program's grants through each grant life cycle, including grant application, due diligence and reporting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and provide ongoing technical support, guidance and accompaniment to applicants and grantees.
Work with grantees to track progress and outcomes.
Identify constructive solutions for grantees when challenges arise.
Work with colleagues and grantees to help identify other implementing partners, donors, technical resources and collaborators working in the same geographic and programmatic sector space to optimize the impact of VCSSA grant funding and promote knowledge sharing among Helmsley grantees and partners.
Program Development & Monitoring
Identify and source new projects and potential grantees.

Remain abreast of geopolitical, environmental and contextual issues impacting the geographic and programmatic focus areas of the VCSSA portfolio, advising the Program Director or Trustees as appropriate.
External Engagement
Assist the Program Director with identifying and managing external consultants and contracts.
Effectively communicate information about the VCSSA program and Helmsley's mission to target audiences, collaborating with and providing support to Helmsley's Communications department as needed.
Represent Helmsley at external meetings and events.
Internal Collaboration
Collaborate with colleagues in cooperative approaches to grant making.
Amplify awareness of the VCSSA program within Helmsley by serving as a champion of and ambassador for program grantees, projects and strategy; Collaborate with and provide support to Helmsley's Communications department as needed.

Desired Qualifications
Completion of an advanced degree (master's degree or higher) in international development, global health, medicine, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant project and/or grant management experience in a non-governmental, non-profit, or philanthropic organization.
Demonstrated experience or technical expertise in global health, health systems strengthening (HSS), innovative health technologies, maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH), economic development or related discipline; experience in Sub-Saharan Africa preferred.
Familiarity with the types of challenges and opportunities which may arise for grantees and local communities in Helmsley's programmatic and geographic focus areas in Sub-Saharan Africa (Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, and Zambia).
Experience with grantmaking and/or grant management; working on grants to Sub-Saharan African countries preferred.

Journey's End will recruit, train, and provide refugee teenagers ages 15 - 17 and young adults ages 18-24 with mentors who have the skills to help them reach their full potential as young adults and ease their social and economic integration into our community. Through programs, workshops, and activities specifically designed by Journey's End for refugee youth, RAMP addresses both the social needs and the barriers to adjusting to a new culture that refugee youth typically face. Job Description:
The Refugee and Asylee Mentoring Program Manager will be responsible for the implementation of the Refugee Mentoring Program through weekly programming, outreach, volunteer onboarding, and data tracking.
The Refugee and Asylee Mentoring Program Manager must exemplify Journey's End's core values in their work. These values include intercultural responsiveness, integrity, person-centered, empowerment, and exemplary service.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage the overall implementation of the Refugee and Asylee Mentoring Program at Journey's End and Lafayette International High School
Assist with implementation of all promotional and educational efforts related to the program,
At request of Senior Program Manager , attend outreach events and speaking opportunities
Responsible for recruitment of participants ages 15-24 for both JERS and Lafayette programs, including parent meetings for all participants under 18 years of age, and intake meetings with all new participants
Enrolls all new program participants, ensuring that required paperwork is complete
Design program materials and group activities for JERS programming and Lafayette after school programming
Oversee weekly mentoring program meetings and organize field trips and group events
Oversee weekly after-school programming at Lafayette
Provide one on one support to clients, including regular check ins, transitional support services, and referrals to additional services and service providers
Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and screen volunteer mentors, then onboard mentors and match mentor pairs

Create and maintain volunteer and client files
Responsible for all data tracking required for grant reporting
Assist with program evaluation, acquiring participant feedback and documenting development of the mentor program

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in social work, international relations, education, or other related field.
Experience working in the non-profit field is highly desired, especially a demonstrated success in program management, and/or working with volunteers
Experience in managing budgets; data collection; and overseeing mandated reporting for grants
Attention to detail, deadlines, and follow-through is essential
Strong collaborative and verbal and written communication skills

The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference), a nonprofit organization with offices in New York, Israel, Germany and Austria, secures material compensation for Holocaust survivors around the world. Founded in 1951 by representatives of 23 major international Jewish organizations, the Claims Conference negotiates for and disburses funds to individual survivors and organizations and seeks the return of Jewish property stolen during the Holocaust. Tasks/Responsibilities
