WestLand is seeking a Program Lead, Environmental (Biology) to add to our Reno team! This position, based out of our Reno office, will support WestLand's biological resource program and related projects across Nevada and into neighboring states and will provide guidance and support to our Project Managers and Field teams. Our environmental consulting practice specializes in environmental planning & permitting, natural resource planning & management, and facility compliance services! WestLand's environmental experts are well versed in city, state, and federal procedures and policies.
What will I be doing?
* Provide leadership and guidance to team members through performance management including conducting performance reviews, identifying appropriate training, and implementing corrective action plans.
* Help identify staffing needs and assist with new employee evaluation and hiring processes.
* Recommend, develop, and schedule staff training programs.
* Develop and manage project scopes, schedule, and budget in alignment with contract terms and conditions.
* Provide support to Environmental Project Managers in developing and managing their projects with strategic guidance and input on approach.
* Develop and/or review technical products to insure they are accurate and of exemplary quality.
* Help to set business development goals and provide recommendations on go/no-go assessments.
* Assist in growing department revenue through business development and process efficiency.
What qualifications are required for this role?
* Master's degree in an environmental field. A bachelor's degree with additional experience may be considered.
* Five (5) or more years of experience working in an environmental or related discipline.
* Two (2) or more years working in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
* Demonstrated ability to develop business relationships and generate new clients.
* Expertise in local, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations.
* Expertise in managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously.
* Experience working in a consulting environment preferred.
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $138,000 annually.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Sierra Nevada Journeys seeks Outdoor Program Instructors with experience delivering culturally relevant camp-based programs for schools and community partners, serving youth from under-resourced communities. This is a nine-month seasonal position with varying roles and responsibilities.
During the spring and fall seasons, Instructors' primary responsibility is delivering one-to-five-day outdoor science education programs primarily serving 5th and 6th-grade students from regional elementary and middle schools. All lessons rest upon the foundation of hands-on science and collaborative problem-solving, with a focus on critical thinking, exploration, and environmental stewardship. Instructors are responsible for leading and educating a group of 12-to-15 students throughout their program, including facilitating large group activities, leading meals, and evening programs. All lessons are written according to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and we train our employees using the University of California at Berkeley's BEETLES (Better Environmental Education, Teaching, Learning & Expertise Sharing) teaching techniques and pedagogy. Sierra Nevada Journeys programs see several thousand participants each year.
During the summer season, Sierra Nevada Journeys delivers both overnight summer camp and community partner programs, including camps for people with disabilities and camps for teen leadership development. During our week-long summer camps, Instructors facilitate activities such as the challenge course, swimming, kayaking, and leadership programs. Instructors may find themselves in a summer camp leadership position such as head lifeguard, camp helper, staff mentor, cabin leader or challenge course assistant. During community partner camps, Instructors deliver programming using Sierra Nevada Journeys' challenge course, as well as delving into social-emotional learning (SEL) competencies to facilitate leadership experiences and develop collaborative problem-solving skills. Instructors also assist organizations that serve people with disabilities by adapting traditional outdoor and camp activities to provide an enriching experience for their participants. Many of our community partners also bring participants to camp on the weekends in the spring and fall seasons; additionally, Instructors work with these groups to meet their program goals. OPI's will have the opportunity to be trained by our Ropes Lead. The Ropes Lead has the skills to oversee and mitigate risk on the course in tandem or in place of our Adventure Manager. The Aviation Program Coordinator in collaboration with the WCTE Director will coordinate the development, scheduling and delivery of the Aviation program
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships (Engage and inform stakeholders to include regional aviation partners)
Ensure curriculum aligns with FAA requirements under FAA Part 141
Develop standard curriculum and syllabi for each class
Identify and secure appropriate facilities
Work with regional agencies/WNC to execute MOU's
Ensure WNC utilizes facilities safely and in accordance with established MOUs
Work with the division director to develop semester schedules and instructional needs
Work with division director to develop semester schedules and instructional needs
Work with division director to develop a realistic program plan and budget such that funding can be requested/sough to support program sustainability
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Aviation or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university. Experience in developing curriculum around Aviation courses, including all three ground school courses
