BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY
Lead the on-site camp health team in managing the camp health center and providing basic first aid and medical support to campers and staff.
Provide Health Assistants with ongoing informal feedback as well as formal coaching conversations.
Be on call up to 22 hours a day when assigned in order to serve as a first responder to all medical incidents at camp.
Develop and implement a working knowledge of the organizations Standing Treatment Orders and first aid and emergency response procedures.
Provide guidance for camp employees on daily health monitoring of participants, basic first aid, the organizations medical policies and procedures, and risk management related to health issues.
Review the health forms of all participants and employees to ensure they are complete and there is a plan for addressing and supporting ongoing medical issues.
Maintain complete and objective documentation of all medical incidents and health care provided.
Supervise the inventory, use, and distribution of medical supplies and medications at the health center and in first aid kits throughout camp.
Submit supply orders as needed and adhere to the summer health center budget.
Communicate effectively with both staff and caregivers regarding participant health issues, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information as appropriate.
If a camper cannot reside in their cabin due to a health challenge, the Health Coordinator will spend the night outside of their normal sleeping arrangements to be able to supervise and support that (or those) camper(s).

REPORTING AND RELATIONSHIPS
The Health Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Camp Operations, with additional guidance from the Camp Director.

The Health Coordinator is expected to communicate effectively with cabin counselors and other camper support staff to ensure staff and camper health needs are met.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS
The mental and physical requirements and work environment conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
Staff are required to actively participate in all camper activities, including water-related activities.
Staff must be ready for new experiences and maintain a consistent level of energy all summer long.
Position requires standing, stooping, sitting, walking long distances on uneven terrain (5+ miles a day), and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds with or without assistance.
Camp activities are often loud, involving many people talking, yelling, cheering, etc., in indoor and outdoor settings.
The camp environment is often hot, rainy, with bugs or other wildlife. Staff must be able to work outside in a nature setting for sustained periods of time without air conditioning.
All PEAK Initiative properties, including Lake Valley Camp and the Milwaukee Program Center, are substance-free environments. Smoking, vaping, alcohol consumption, and the use of illicit drugs are strictly prohibited on all property regardless of whether or not staff are on break.
Staff must be able to walk and perform activities in the dark in an outdoor, nature setting.
Staff must be able to eat in a dining hall setting with 100+ people. The dining hall will be very busy and very noisy during these times and staff are expected to supervise and sit with their cabins throughout the meals.
Staff must be able to eat family style meals in a dining hall for 3 meals a day. Sample menus available upon request. With pre-summer notice, the kitchen can accommodate most medical or value-based dietary restrictions.
Position requires working weekends and nights, with time off in between camp sessions. Camp days are often long and at times require late night camper support, especially for Leadership Team Members and Health Staff. Staff will have daily scheduled breaks. Staff will have a combination of work and on call hours for up to 22 hours a day for several consecutive days.
Staff must be able to reside in shared housing on the LVC overnight camp property in Boscobel, WI starting with staff training in June and ending after the last camp program lets out in mid-August.
Staff must be able to live and sleep in housing with campers. Cabins have electricity, but no plumbing. Staff and campers are required to use communal bath houses located within the village.
Staff may be required to drive 6+ hours in one day, transporting campers or other staff members.

The Child Watch Coordinator is responsible for coordinating day-to-day operations and staff of the Child Watch area, as well as providing a safe and nurturing environment for children.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare staff schedule, assuring sufficient staff coverage during hours of operation.
Maintain participant records and other documentation in accordance with department requirements.
Ensure customer accounts are kept up to date.
Develop positive relationships will the staff, members, participants, and children while providing motivational support and guidance.
Respond to member and participant needs. Handle complaints in a courteous, patient manner using problem solving techniques.
Ensure safety and cleanliness of the Child Watch area.
Uphold the core values of the YMCA when working with people within the YMCA facilities and community.
Work a variety of scheduled shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing, and resolving issues.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have at least one year of experience in child supervision.
Early Childhood 1 and 2 certifications are desired.
CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Training provided by the YMCA.
Must be able to effectively communicate with members, parents, children, and staff.
The candidate must also be able to exercise mature judgment and sound decision making.
Previous experience with staff supervision is preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. Must be able to assume postures in low levels for extended periods of time; climb, bend, and reach; see and hear well enough to keep children safe; and engage in physical activity with children.

The Children's Long-Term Support waiver is a Medicaid funded long-term care program for children with severe disabilities living with their families in Wisconsin. Clients served may be diagnosed with developmental, physical, or severe emotional disabilities.
As a member of the Children's Long Term Support Team (CLTS), this position is responsible for the coordination of services provided to children in Milwaukee County. The Service Coordinator works closely with client families to identify goals and care needs for each child and the development of an individualized service plan. Service Coordinators assist in identifying appropriate services to meet these goals by utilizing waiver funded, insurance based options, and informal community supports needed by eligible persons and their families.
Essential Functions:
ยท Must be able to offer families a strong knowledge base that helps them make decisions about their options for their child.
ยท Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team as a cooperative and supportive team member.
ยท Strong oral and written communication skills.
