**Responsibilities**
**What You'll Do:**
+ Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products.

About the Columbia Fireflies: The Columbia Fireflies are a part of Hardball Capital which also owns the Chattanooga Lookouts (AA Cincinnati Reds Affiliate) and the Fort Wayne TinCaps (A San Diego Padres Affiliate) The Fireflies began play in the spring of 2016 at Segra Park, in Columbia, South Carolina. The Fireflies are the Single A, Kansas City Royals affiliate of the Carolina League whose season begins in April and concludes at the end of August.
Program Description:
The Fireflies internship position(s) will be open to college students and recent college graduates. Interns will be required to work all home games and regular non-game day office hours. Members of the Internship Program will be exposed to all facets of a Minor League Baseball organization and will gain practical, in-depth experience from one of the positions listed below. Hardball Capital believes in hiring from within; many of our current full-time staff members began as interns with one of our clubs. All internships will be provided with a monthly stipend of $1,000.
Responsibilities Include:
Assist in all aspects of food and beverage operations for all baseball games and special events (non-baseball games) at Segra Park
Assist the Food and Beverage management in all aspects of day-to-day operations
Assist in managing seasonal employees
Schedule Game Day employees and assisting with payroll
Communicate effectively with guests, all levels of management and co-workers
Maintain the proper care of equipment

Food and Beverage internships will have 3 concentrations:
- Commissary- This position services the whole park in a back of house, food and beverage capacity. This intern is repsponisable for managing a small team, inventory, and stocking of the park.
- Concessions Operations- This is a face paced, large volume position. This concentration will assist in the function of our 4 concession stands and approximately 20 carts. With the largest number of staff and moving parts, this individual needs to be invested in teaching and training, able to jump in where needed in a fast-food type setting, and the ability to make sound decisions rapidly.
-Premium Hospitality- Our club level are Columbia Fireflies fine dining experience, and the premium hospitality internship is in the face of the operation. This is the service of our club lounge, 16 suites and our Broad River Balcony. This is an UNPAID internship through the DoD Skillbridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. DoD Skillbridge Internships are available to help transitioning active-duty military personnel gain real-world experience in the work force sometime during their final 180 days of active-duty service. Objective
The Skillbridge intern will train as a Facilities Manager / Security Officer within the HII Mission Technologies, reporting to a designated HII supervisor, with the goal of learning Facilities Management and Industrial Security principles, technologies, and core functions, as well as the roles and responsibilities of working as a Facilities Manager / Security Officer on a corporate team. The intern will be assigned special projects as needed.

Learning and Development
This program includes a training and development component that occurs throughout the program. The training is focused on growing your business acumen, financial acumen, and leadership skills.
Participants will be assigned a leadership mentor for the duration of the program to support them in their individual professional growth through personalized development plans. Also, as an integral part of this Program, Associates will be expected to assume an active role in managing important aspects of the business related to their specific rotational assignment
Certification Support
Associates are required to pursue and complete a relevant Accounting or Finance credential (CPA or CFA) prior to finishing the program. To support Associates on their credential path, the Accounting and Finance Development Program provides the Associates with paid study hours, exam materials, and exam registration fees.
**Principle Duties and Responsibilities**
Successfully complete 3-4 rotations as in various parts of the Finance organization and broader business units; outstanding work performance while in the assigned roles; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others; self-directed in completing high quality work within established timelines.
