**Position Responsibilities**

Beyond New Horizons (BNH) is responsible for the design, operation, and maintenance of the infrastructure required to test flight, defense, and aerospace systems in the ground test facilities at Arnold Engineering Development Complex at Arnold AFB, Tennessee. This infrastructure includes equipment such as electric motors, compressors, hydraulic systems, refrigeration systems, heaters, dryers, power systems, measurement and data acquisition systems, control systems, and more. We do not design or conduct analysis of the vehicles; we design, operate, and maintain the systems which enable ground test of models and subassemblies to provide our customers with the data they need to make decisions on design and flight-worthiness.
The Beyond New Horizons internship program offers 10-12 week full-time summer opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in various engineering and computer science related disciplines. As part of the internship, you are paired with experienced engineers and scientists who serve as your mentor(s) in completing real engineering or technical work gaining valuable experience in your field of study while contributing to Air Force and contractor missions. You will be required to present a briefing to management demonstrating what you learned and accomplished throughout the summer.
Our internship is structured such that you are assigned multiple tasks to complete throughout the summer to provide exposure to the variety of types of work assignments available here at AEDC. Assist in developing standardized processes for managing aerospace manufacturing equipment throughout its life cycle from concept initiation, acquisition to disposal. This position emphasizes process development, creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process flow mapping, and establishing baseline document requirements for all stages of manufacturing equipment life cycle management.

Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and document machine life cycle management standards for each phase: Concept & Initiation, Design & Development, Production, Support & Maintenance, and Disposal.
* Develop templates and guidelines to ensure all necessary information-such as technical details, financial analysis, compliance documentation, risk assessments, and supporting data-is standardized and presented clearly for senior level and above decision-making.
* Support the development of retrofit/replacement cycles and subsystem overhaul programs.
* Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and accountability among stakeholders in life cycle management processes.
* Design process flow maps to visualize and optimize workflows for each phase of the asset life cycle. Define responsible stake holder requirement for each phase.
Desired Skills:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Experience in standards development and process standardization.
* Knowledge of predictive analytics and preventative maintenance strategies.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Key Objectives
Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee is in search of Computer Science Interns (CSI) to join the Code Academy team in Davidson County. Work alongside students at Code Academy to teach coding concepts and app design. Spring Code Academy coding clubs take place from February - April. Training provided on conducting sessions, curriculums, and effective teaching skills. Identify a need within the program and develop an internship project as a solution or collaborate on a current app design project.

Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED
• 1 to 2 years of experience working with children and/or youth
• Interest in or understanding of coding concepts and app design
