Responsibilities:
Environmental Interns/Co-ops are critical to ensuring that we maintain high standards for protecting people, the environment, and the communities where we work and live. They support all areas of the Midstream business. Opportunities are available for interns/co-ops to receive training in various subject areas including Health, Environment, Safety, Security and Product Quality.
Environmental Interns/Co-ops assist company professionals in the following areas:
+ Interprets and/or develops Company environmental policies and guidelines and develops methods and procedures for implementing and assuring conformance; advises appropriate managers and supervisors of the Company's goals and requirements; provides guidance and technical assistance in organizing and establishing programs and procedures to implement and administer such requirements, including budget inputs. Monitors compliance with these policies in assigned areas and directs related reports and recommendations to appropriate personnel.
+ Designs and/or reviews engineering designs and cost estimates for environmental equipment or systems; determines engineering specifications and recommends equipment, as required.
+ Identifies and investigates current and developing environmental problems or issues to determine cause and contributory circumstances; initiates steps to prevent recurrences and provides recommendations with appropriate personnel as well as communicating to senior management.
+ Keeps abreast of environmental legislation, regulatory agency actions, and international standards as well as related technological and administrative developments; develops/assists with legislative and regulatory impact assessment to ensure an appropriate response by the Company to governmental proposals; submits required reports and obtains various permits as required.
+ Develops environmental information, manuals, training material and programs; informs employees of related policies and procedures; conducts appropriate training sessions.
Qualifications:
+ Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
+ Concurrent enrollment in a Bachelor's degree seeking program for the duration of the experience.
+ Strong academic performance.
+ Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
+ Availability to work 40 hours per week.
+ Positions are available Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters.
+ Availability for multiple work terms is preferred.
+ A valid driver's license is required (travel may be involved with some positions).

THE PROGRAM
At VEG we find a way to say yes to helping future veterinary technicians grow into their potential. Our Veterinary Technician Student Externship Program offers a hands-on, immersive experience in emergency medicine alongside our credentialed emergency veterinary technicians.
You won't just observe-you'll engage. You'll get close to the action, ask questions, try new techniques, and explore everything that excites you about life in the ER. From patient triage to diagnostics to inpatient care, you'll gain exposure to what emergency medicine is really like-and explore whether it's the future you want to chase. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Learn from the top emergency veterinary professionals in the business.
Pair up with an emergency credentialed veterinary technician for real-time mentoring and on-the-floor learning
Shadow and assist with triage, outpatient visits, diagnostics, anesthesia, inpatient care, and more
Practice skills required by your school's proficiency checklist with mentorship and guidance
Experience the teamwork, pace, and heart that defines emergency care at VEG
Explore whether or not being an ER superhero is what you want to do next
WHAT YOU NEED
Currently enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology or nursing program, or a program actively seeking accreditation; this program is only for students, not future veterinarians or veterinary assistants
Enrolled in a course that requires externship hours or skills
Able to start the program within six months of application
Current rabies vaccination or titer required
Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and work on the floor as well as ability to lift up to 25 kg on own and able to support up to 40 kg with assistance
Must be willing to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors
Work well in a fast-paced environment with people from all backgrounds and different personality types

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Summer Intern will complete a 9 week rotational program to gain exposure and an understanding of basic dealership management principles. This role will work closely with the Parts, Service and Sales teams to assist with daily operational tasks, provide customer support, and to plan and execute one or more department specific projects. Construction Managers are Dennis Group's project site supervisors that oversee the daily operations of the construction activities including coordination of sub-contractors, site safety programs, project schedule, and project budget. Our projects are designing and building food and beverage process facilities (Industrial / MEP projects). This involves much coordination with multiple engineering groups and designers / architects. The Construction Manager is a skilled communicator, able to interact with all levels of personnel, coordinate and facilitate meetings with competence, and have strong technical skills in order to function proficiently with multiple types of software programs.
The Construction Manager ensures the progression of the project in providing attention and coordination in both field and office construction management tasks. The role functions will include contract administration, project planning and scheduling, project reporting, and an advisory role to project management issues and activities.

Work with project management on the developing and updating project scopes, budgets, and schedules

About You
Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
GPA: 3.0 or above.
Familiarity with Design-build construction method (strongly preferred).
Have a fundamental understanding overseeing subcontractors and driving the project schedule.
Have good communication & presentation skills for client interactions - strong technical, organizational, managerial, and communication skills.
Past job site experience working on industrial building projects - Past internships are strongly preferred.
A fundamental understanding of all phases of construction and an ability to read and interpret construction documents, schedules, and budgets.
Proficiency with Excel and MS Project is strongly preferred.
Work Schedule requirement - Work 10 days onsite, 4 days off.
Be willing to work long hours during the summer months - 10+ hours a day.
Have a motivated and results orientated attitude.
Willing to be relocate during internship to be onsite of project - Meet Travel requirement - Up to 100% travel to projects throughout the USA and possibly Canada.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and prolonged periods of standing and walking around project site with uneven surfaces.
Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.
Must be able to lift-up to 50 pounds at times.
Travel Requirement:
Our projects are located throughout the United States and Canada, and this is a site-based position with a 10 days on / 4 days off work schedule. Projects typically last from 6 to 12+ months. Meal and lodging per diems are provided along with reasonable travel provisions. Up to 100% overnight travel is required based on project needs.
