Key job responsibilities

Summary
This is an UNPAID internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. DoD SkillBridge Internships are available to help transitioning active-duty military personnel gain real-world experience in the work force sometime during their final 180 days of active-duty service. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership. HII Mission Technologies (HII-MT) Internshipprograms are focused on placing transitioning military into internships that require KSAs, Education & Military Training similar to their current or previous military jobs; positions that could easily transition over to a full-time regular and permanent job with HII-MT.
Program of Instruction
The Skillbridge intern will train as an Information Warfare (IW) and Cryptologic Warfare (CRY) Mission Technician with HII-Mission Technologies, reporting to HII Supervisor Kevin Foster, Program Manager, with the goal of learning FURY Systems Operations and Maintenance principles, technologies, and core device functions, as well as the roles and responsibilities of working in a federated FURY system environment. The intern will be assigned special projects as needed.
TRAINING LOCATION: Virginia Beach, VA
Desired End State (3-4 month target)
- At the end of three months, the intern will be able to operate both fixed site and Mobile FURY systems, conduct maintenance, and coordinate and execute FURY EMW/IW training missions to Fleet consumers.

Summary
This is an UNPAID internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. DoD SkillBridge Internships are available to help transitioning active-duty military personnel gain real-world experience in the work force sometime during their final 180 days of active-duty service. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership. HII Mission Technologies (HII-MT) Internshipprograms are focused on placing transitioning military into internships that require KSAs, Education & Military Training similar to their current or previous military jobs; positions that could easily transition over to a full-time regular and permanent job with HII-MT.
Objective
The Skillbridge intern will train as a Combat Systems Test Engineer within HII-Mission Technologies' Global Security group, reporting to a designated HII Supervisor, with the goal of learning carrier new construction combat systems test engineering principles and practices. This training program will provide the intern with a comprehensive understanding of naval combat systems, technical documentation, and test engineering methodologies. The intern will gain hands-on experience with key systems such as AN/UPX-29 IFF, AN/SPN-46(V)6/7 landing systems, and various RADAR systems. This program will prepare the intern for potential employment opportunities within HII Mission Technologies or similar organizations in the defense industry, specifically in roles related to fleet sustainment and combat systems maintenance. The intern will participate in ongoing projects and be assigned special tasks as needed to enhance their learning experience and contribute to the team's objectives.
Desired End State (3-4 month target)
At the end of four months, the internship will Prepare the transitioning service member for a successful career in Fleet Sustainment and Combat Systems Test Engineering at HII Mission Technologies, with a focus on carrier new construction and combat systems maintenance.
