What Does A Program Safety Manager Do At Sysco Food Services Inc.

* Execute all corporate food safety related strategies, policies and procedures; maintain open communication with all related departments to address the identification of food safety hazards and process improvement opportunities Manage HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) plan and pre-requisite programs.
* Ensure compliance with applicable food safety regulatory requirements (Federal, State/Provincial and, Local) Use the LiveLink system to collect, maintain, and update corporate standard operating procedures, policies, and templates for all Food Safety related records used by Operating Company associates Handle and oversee the product recall process to ensure timely communication and execution of product recalls and completion of related documentation Manage Syscos participation in Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), audits by BRC, independent third parties, customers, internal, and regulatory entities.
* Analyze results and gather corrective action plans for audit non-conformance.
* Review final results with Regional Food Safety Quality Manager Conduct food safety observations of key associates performing food safety activities Routinely audit food safety practices to objectively evaluate performance and provide feedback to other personnel as necessary to ensure compliance with Preventive Controls Program and any Regulatory requirements (federal, state/provincial, and local) Perform analysis and prepare reporting to evaluate Operating Company Food Safety compliance and overall performance against KPIs Deliver and track program training for all associates and supervisors with direct Food Safety program responsibilities Implement and manage compliance with the Sysco Supplier Approval program for non-branded suppliers Serve as the Food Safety customer lead at the Operating Company Verify the Food Safety capabilities, Food Safe conditions and execution of food safety procedures of any potential third party warehouses that are intended to be used for over-flow storage.

* On a annual basis, conduct a Physical Environment Review of Regulatory Compliance(PERRC) survey at each assigned entity
* On site at the facility 1 to 2 weeks reviewing the compliance of The Joint Commission standards for the Physical Environment and other regulatory agencies.
* Consult daily with Engineering and Safety officer the findings of the survey.
* Take detailed notes and photos to assist entity in resolution of findings
* Reporting results of findings of the PERRC in an Executive Summary for the entity president , THR Leadership, and entity Engineering and Safety Officer
* Input scores and comments into the PERRC tool, being detailed as to what the deficiency is and the location of such finding
* Create photo PDF giving explanation to findings found and the location of such finding.
* Create preliminary report to share with engineering and Safety Officer of findings and review for any discrepancy prior to sending the report to the EOC Director who will send it to the president.
* Develop action plans for implementation of deficiencies on standards and elements of performance on the PERRC or from any other regulatory agency, for each assigned entity.
* Follow Up with entity in approximately 6 months to evaluate progress on the Action Plans and their regulatory compliance and re-score to denote progress
* Facilitate a coordinated system wide effort regarding standards, practices, policies and processes.
* Act as Consultant / Content Expert to hospital staff to explain purpose, content, and requirements of applicable federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
* Facilitate and attend system wide committee meetings to improve outcomes, standards of policies and safety of the physical environment.
* Perform Above Ceiling survey, identifying penetrations, cabling issues, and fire and smoke wall compliance.
* In-depth document review of required documentation of TJC.
