The Trauma Program Supervisor assumes responsibility and accountability for incorporating the vision, values, mission and critical goals of the organization into their job performance. Provides clinical management and operational direction for the Trauma program. Provides leadership and coordination within the area of responsibility in collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director (TMD) and Sr. Clinical Director. Serves as tactical point person as it relates to patient care, staff development, physician relationships, quality initiatives, program development, and system-wide success. Assures evidence-based patient care by creating an environment that encourages the use of research in practice. Develops, implements and evaluates trauma program to comply with the requirements to maintain trauma certification as defined by current standards set by the American College of Surgeons.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited NLN /CCNE institution 5 years trauma, ED or CC nursing 3 years supervisory or management 2 years trauma program manager or equivalent program manager Registered Nurse (RN) State and/or Compact State Licensure State licensure

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Supervises administrative staff. Interviews, hires, orient, trains, develops, and disciplines staff as necessary. Organizes work and work processes. Conducts annual performance appraisals and recommends merit increases in conjunction with manager and consistent with Hospital policy. Conducts regular staff meetings. Serves as point person when manager is absent.

2. 5. Participates in budget process by identifying and analyzing trends and patterns and prepares cost projections. Develops proposals to improve cost-effectiveness. Monitors budgets and payroll, resolves variances, prepares reports, and maintains related records and documentation.

6. Purchases office supply needs through established department protocols to ensure efficient office operations. Monitors supply inventory/budgeting and identify and communicate trends and patterns to support cost containment and ensure appropriate use of supplies.

7. Maximizes revenue by ensuring all appropriate registration and administrative paperwork is generated at the time of patient registration and forwarded to the Hospital and/or Foundation in a timely manner for billing purposes. Identifies opportunities to change registration, scheduling, and billing processes and procedures to enhance positive patient experience.

8. Works on special projects and provides detailed analyses and reports on findings as requested by management independently and generates custom analytical reports from billing system as requested by management.

9. Ensures integrity of in-house computer system. Makes recommendations to management on system changes and works with software programmer to implement changes.
