Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with other BITS members on process improvement initiatives.
* Develop, refine, and maintain .NET applications that will streamline Biostatistics and Programming deliveries.
* Incorporate feedback from users into existing applications.
* Assess current applications to determine where they can be improved and extended.
* Train project teams on how to optimize their use of BITS applications.


Qualifications :
* BS degree in degree in computer science, statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, or related field and at least 8 years of experience; or MS/MA degree and at least 6 years of experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* .NET application development experience in Windows is required.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Head of Development, Infrastructure, and Applications, the Programmer Analyst-A develops, maintains, and integrates computing systems and software in support of Columbia's Digital Library and Scholarly Technologies Program. This includes working as necessary in all of the Development, Infrastructure & Application Group's principal languages, tools and platforms. In addition to application development, the position is responsible for supporting data conversions and migrations directly, via tool development, and with process automation. The position is responsible for researching and evaluating new software solutions. The position may be asked to mentor junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops and implements complex software applications, often interoperating with established systems. Works closely with colleagues on all tasks in the software development and maintenance life cycle. Manipulates, converts, and analyzes large data and metadata sets, and digital objects; generates reports. Performs research, testing, and evaluation of potential commercial or open-source software solutions. Other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent related experience required. 3-5 years of related experience required. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong leadership, interpersonal, teamwork, collaboration & analytical skills. Commitment to supporting and working in a diverse environment. Ability to work within team standards in the design, development and maintenance of applications of moderate scope and complexity. Ability to contribute in one or more of the principal languages and platforms used by the team, and learn new languages/platforms as required.
Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in a research discipline. Information Technology experience in an academic library (or related technology experience in higher education). Experience with the serialization, processing, and transformation of library description & discovery data (e.g., MARC, MODS, EAD). Experience in open-source and/or inter-institutional collaborative development (especially those relevant to digital library access and preservation systems). Demonstrated experience supporting digital collections and/or institutional repository projects. Demonstrated experience working with data APIs and/or linked open data.

The ESIS Team has an opening for a Data Programmer / Analyst. This position will play a critical role in the production, analysis and delivery of Integrated Absence Management data to CICA. The Programmer Analyst will be responsible for claims data accumulation, loss reporting and inquiry across various formats and specifications and will need to proficient in mapping data layouts inbound and outbound from disparate data sources. The Analyst will need to develop a strong understanding of claims workflows and processing as it touches all points from technical execution to client data delivery.The ideal candidate will possess strong, SQL and APEX programming and business process engineering skills: evaluating existing design and planning to ensure that performance and scalability are aligned with the company's strategic goals.The candidate must have experience along with the aptitude to develop an understanding of complex enterprise systems.Candidates with experience in Insurance/Claims systems will be preferred.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall responsibilities include all aspects of absence data transmission, reporting, support, and implementation. The candidate is expected to have 3-5 years of SQL / APEX programming experience and working with data, business analysis, and client-facing roles. The candidate must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively in order to perform the business analysis and follow through required.

Responsibilities include:


Maintain proficient knowledge of all systems data sources, processing flows, i/o layouts and feed capabilities. Work with the Technical team to provide support and direction relative to process and data requirements Ability to program requirements using SQL and APEX Develop API data calls as required to support business needs Collaborate with others to understand how the components interact and fit into the overall system and move fluidly between various data repositories to diagnose and resolve issues. Ability to multi-task and practice good time management skills, both individually and as part of a team. Ensure the quality and timeliness of the data transfers.

3-5 years of systems and data analysis experience. Proficient SQL, SSIS and APEX programming experience. Demonstrated analytical ability in a data intensive and technical environment. Demonstrated ability to devise and implement solutions to complex problems. Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills. Capable of dealing with highly visible and demanding customers in a professional manner. Must be organized, very detail oriented and have a strong commitment to quality results. Demonstrated practice of personal responsibility and prioritization.
