Job responsibilities * Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems * Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others * Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems * Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture * Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies * Demonstrates a product mindset whilst managing the application lifecycles as an application owner * Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills * Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience * Strong system design, application development, and operational stability skills with advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, and application resiliency * Advanced proficiency in Full-stack application development in Python, Java 11/17/21, Kafka & front-end development using React * Expertise in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and database technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL and NoSQL databases like DynamoDB) * Skilled in development and testing tools such as JUnit, Groovy, Postman, REST Assured, Eclipse, Maven, Jenkins, and IntelliJ * Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools including Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm * Experience with performance testing tools including JMeter and Blazemeter * Experience with distributed systems and cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, and Azure * Hands-on experience working with Large Language Models (LLMOps) and generative AI, including chunking, tokenization, embeddings, and evaluation pipelines * Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and Hugging Face * Effective communication skills across teams and management levels, with a proactive approach to process improvement and collaboration Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills * Familiarity with graph databases, vector databases, open search, etc. * Familiarity of the financial services industry and their IT systems
