Interns will be immersed in the daily operations of a clinical lab, gaining exposure to specimen processing, instrumentation, and workflow management. You'll work alongside experienced Technologists and Supervisors who are passionate about mentoring and developing future lab professionals. You will primarily support Microbiology. Internship Assignment Summary: Receive and sort clinical lab specimens Prepare specimens for testing and analysis Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance Troubleshoot any specimen related issues Replenish test bench supplies as needed Maintain a clean and safe work environment Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards Develop, complete, and present a Process Improvement Project Education/Qualifications/Skills: Be working toward a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or a non-traditional Bachelor's degree that meets local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy Thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Show initiative and the ability to work independently under general supervision Have a genuine interest in pursuing a career as a Laboratory Technologist Be able to lift and rotate up to 30 pounds regularly Labcorp is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer: Labcorp strives for inclusion and belonging in the workforce and does not tolerate harassment or discrimination of any kind.
