Work Program Specialist V, SR-24: $6,043.00 - $7,351.00 per month
Examples of Duties
Plans, organizes, schedules and supervises the conduct of studies relating to policies, procedures, standards and program operations affecting manpower, materials, equipment and funding; recommends actions or improvements and develops plans for implementation; develops work schedules and coordinates the various divisional programs; evaluates and supervises the compilation of the division's budget to include preparation of proper justifications; coordinates the implementation of the expenditure plan; participates in the development of school furniture standards; recommends and implements training programs; confers with PTA groups, school officials and other interested parties; supervises lower-level specialist and other employees; prepares narrative and statistical reports and correspondence; and performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement: Graduation from an accredited college or university. Excess experience of the type and quality described below, or progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical or investigative work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.

Work Program Specialist V - Three and one-half (3-1/2) years of work or program analysis and evaluation experience; viz. experience in operational planning, organizational analysis, budget analysis or methods studies, to improve the efficiency of a given operation. Supervisory Aptitude: Supervisory aptitude is the demonstration of aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involves some supervisory responsibilities or aspects; by serving as a group or team leader or in similar work in which opportunities for demonstrating supervisory capabilities exist; by completion of training courses in supervision accompanied by application of supervisory skills in work assignments or by favorable appraisals by a supervisor indicating the possession of supervisory potential.
Substitutions Allowed: A Master's degree in business or public administration or a closely related major from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
Selective Certification Requirements:
Specialized Work Experience: Of the required three and one-half (3-1/2) years of work or program analysis and evaluation experience, applicant for this position must possess at least one (1) year of journey level professional work experience in budget; management analysis; accounting; fiscal services; or a related field. The experience must have been gained from a large organization or government body.
Driver's License Requirement: Applicants must possess a current, valid driver's license.
Quality of Experience: Possession of the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as proof of qualification for a position. The applicant's overall experience must have been of such scope and responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate that applicant has the ability to perform effectively the duties of the position for which applicant is being considered.
Supplemental Information
Salary: The advertised salary is based on full-time employment and includes shortage and school year differentials, if applicable.
Requirements: Applicants must meet all the requirements for the position they are seeking as of the date of the application, unless otherwise specified. Payday
New employees can expect their first paycheck within the first 3 pay periods of their start date. Payday is on the 5th and 20th (or previous business day) of every month.

Operationalizes and implements program curriculum. Assists in the development of curriculum and coordinates delivery of lessons. * Oversees various activities to include program check-in and check outs insuring student accountability. Coordinates and communicates program evaluation plan. Assists in the orientation training and the evaluation of program staff. Closes program insuring that all equipment and supplies are accounted for and stored properly. Serves as a point to contact to parents, family, staff regarding a variety of day to day activities including but not limited to child development, successes and challenges. Determines appropriate order of daily events and recommends changes, modifications based on what is working best for the current group in the program. Resides in program assigned living space (Asst. * Oversees, monitors, coaches, and counsels staff and students where necessary. Observes, provides feedback for performance evaluation of staff (mid and final). Ensures that Kamehameha Schools (KS) policies and procedures relevant to the program are communicated and understood throughout the session.

* Uses sound judgment and decisiveness to resolve a variety of situations involving students and or staff, insuring the health and well-being of all students and staff. Represents KS in a professional, tactful, well-respected and appropriate manner and acts on authority when necessary.
