**Overview**
The Settlements internship will consist of 10 - 12 weeks of fulltime Settlements work. The Settlement Intern is responsible for support of market and/or transmission settlements, or other entry-level tasks as needed. The Settlement Intern provides support for the settlement staff, Supervisor of Settlements, Manager of Settlements, and Director of Settlements as necessary
**Essential Functions**
+ Primary support of daily market or transmission settlement production activities
+ Perform pre-settlement validations of billing determinants from source system interfaces
+ Perform settlement runs and posting activities in accordance with the market or transmission settlement calendar
+ Perform post-settlement validations for daily settlement statements and other reports for market participants
+ Ensure compliance with all settlement control activities subject to the annual SOC1 audit including maintenance of all documentation providing evidence of performance of those activities
+ Track and document progress on applicable production activities
+ Assist on special projects as assigned. Examples:
+ Tableau Report Development
+ Unit testing of the calculations
+ Member testing support
+ Update market or transmission settlement process documents
+ The Settlements Intern is expected to be competent with the administrative and communication tools for word processing, spread sheet development, time keeping, etc.
+ The Settlements Intern should provide basic support to help project groups meet aggressive time schedules
+ Settlements Intern is expected to embrace and promote the SPP Culture, Mission and Core Values in attitude toward stakeholder relationships, current work assignments as well as long term goals and strategic initiative of the organization. + Resolve data errors in the operations of settlement computations
Update market or transmission settlement process documents as changes to processes are made
+ Respond to requests for data and financial analysis
+ Assist Director of Settlements, Manager of Settlements, Supervisor of Settlements, and other SPP staff as necessary

This position's primary responsibility is to assist individuals with criminal backgrounds with becoming self-sufficient by providing leading edge services that create solutions and change lives. To fulfill this, the Reentry Specialist will assist individuals with community resources, and obtain career development and vocational training as appropriate. Reentry Specialist will be a support system to the program participant with the end goal of finding gainful employment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work as part of the interdisciplinary team and ensure that the necessary services and support are provided to assist persons served in identifying and making choices about their social, vocational and life skills goals to support successful community reintegration. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
2. Develop knowledge of and relationships with community service providers, e.g., collaborating agencies, probation, parole, court support services, Department of Human Services, Child Support Enforcement, substance abuse, mental health agencies, housing providers/landlords, legal aid, area
schools, both secondary and post-secondary, faith-based groups. Develop and maintain relationships with family members, residential providers, funders, and any other internal and external contacts to insure pertinent resources are available to participants. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
3. Design and facilitate educational and training programs, as participants' needs dictate, to include appropriate pre and post-release services including but not limited to: life skills training, financial management, eligibility for local, state and federal assistance, socialization, parenting skills, career development, occupational skill training and personal safety. This duty is performed weekly, about 10% of the time.
4. Facilitate the intake process for a new referral; complete a needs assessment and interest inventories to establish a basis for the Individual Service Plan; Develop a plan to assist each participant start a path to self-sufficiency. This duty is performed weekly, about 10% of the time.
5. Provide information and referral for services that are not provided by the agency, as appropriate; maintain professional and ethical boundaries with consumers and community stakeholders at all times. This duty is performed weekly, about 10% of the time.
6. Provide crisis intervention and assist in the development of responsible behaviors to ensure successful reintegration into the community; provide ongoing support, as needed, to ensure appropriate engagement in services outlined in the Individual Service Plan. The Settlements internship will consist of 10 - 12 weeks of fulltime Settlements work. The Settlement Intern is responsible for support of market and/or transmission settlements, or other entry-level tasks as needed. The Settlement Intern provides support for the settlement staff, Supervisor of Settlements, Manager of Settlements, and Director of Settlements as necessary
Essential Functions
Primary support of daily market or transmission settlement production activities
Perform pre-settlement validations of billing determinants from source system interfaces
Perform settlement runs and posting activities in accordance with the market or transmission settlement calendar
Perform post-settlement validations for daily settlement statements and other reports for market participants
Ensure compliance with all settlement control activities subject to the annual SOC1 audit including maintenance of all documentation providing evidence of performance of those activities
Track and document progress on applicable production activities
Assist on special projects as assigned. Examples:
Tableau Report Development
Unit testing of the calculations
Member testing support
Update market or transmission settlement process documents
The Settlements Intern is expected to be competent with the administrative and communication tools for word processing, spread sheet development, time keeping, etc.
The Settlements Intern should provide basic support to help project groups meet aggressive time schedules
Settlements Intern is expected to embrace and promote the SPP Culture, Mission and Core Values in attitude toward stakeholder relationships, current work assignments as well as long term goals and strategic initiative of the organization. Resolve data errors in the operations of settlement computations
Update market or transmission settlement process documents as changes to processes are made
