Position Overview SubCom is a company specializing in the engineering, manufacturing, and installation of subsea fiber optic data cables, has an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) department that focuses on ensuring workplace safety and environmental protection. The EHS intern under the guidance of the EHS director will be responsible for developing a functional EHS database designed to aid the organization in the utilization and reporting of regulated & non-regulated chemicals throughout the organization from “cradle to grave” via the EHS SharePoint page. Responsibilities The Environmental, Health & Safety Intern will be responsible for reviewing, updating and organizing the SubCom. Safety Data Sheets & other related data. Inventory/aid in inventory of all chemicals across the organization Ensure all SDS are current and accurate Input into an internal database Connect SDS to relevant reporting metrics Archive old retired SDS's Work with site EHS lead to coordinate lab pack Waste management & tracking Document the existing waste streams, profiles and end destinations Develop a centralized repository for sites to store track and manage manifests, waste logs & Bills of Lading. Qualifications Qualifications Must have strong communication skills, willingness to learn and adapt, effective time management and a positive, professional demeanor. Able to interface with internal Information Technology (IT) team. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word. Etc.) SharePoint knowledge is a plus but not required.
