Job Duties:
The duties listed below are intended to depict tasks performed by this classification.
* Assembles data and prepares payroll information for submission to the County Auditor; (e.g. reviews payroll sheets & leave documents for accuracy & authorization; calculates hours worked, overtime, shift differential, sick leave & vacation balances, etc.).
* Submits applicable master payroll data (i.e. name, classification, wage, account numbers, payroll deductions, exemptions; maintains payroll records.
* Verifies and distributes payroll checks; answers inquires from employees regarding their pay; researches data.
* Screens job applicants; administers typing, shorthand and related clerical examinations, meets and greets office visitors.
* Directs visitors to proper individual or department; dispenses and receives employment applications; answers telephone.
