General Responsibilities:

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Knowledge of heavy industrial process piping design, experience in an industrial chemical processing environment is a plus
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar software
Working knowledge of incorporating safety, maintainability, constructability, and operational requirements into the design process
Knowledge of pipe, pipe fittings, valves, piping supports, and insulation used in various industrial applications
Experience in equipment layout
Working knowledge in obtaining detailed field dimensions in heavy industrial environments
Ability to successfully handle multiple projects
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong communication and organizational skills
Must be results oriented
Must be a team player
Must possess uncompromised commitment to quality

Job Requirements:
Chemical Engineering undergraduate degree from ABET accredited school
10+ years of heavy industrial experience in a design or process engineering role.
Virginia Professional Engineer preferred but not required
Must have heavy industrial experience, experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, or bio-processing industries is a plus
Project management experience
Experience working in a multidiscipline engineering consulting firm
Process safety experience (PHAs, HAZOPs, Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, Inherently Safer Design, Documentation to support process safety, etc.)
Current working knowledge of safety relief device code requirements, calculations, sizing and system design procedures
Current working knowledge of chemical engineering principles with an emphasis on fluid mechanics, mass and heat transfer, and thermodynamics
Working knowledge of Aspen or HYSIS
Must be technically sound, and be willing to mentor junior engineers
Strong communication and organizational skills
Must be results oriented

Primarily engaged in the design, modeling, and analysis of I & C engineering requirements on small to mid-sized heavy industrial projects.
Planning and executing Instrumentation engineering design for field instrumentation, Distributed Control System (DCS), Supervisory control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Integrated Control System (ICS), Fire and Gas, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Telecommunications systems. This entails the preparation of basic design, detailed design of the instrumentation and controls part of the project.
Job Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of P&ID's with respect to measurement and control.
Develop control narratives.
