Project analyst job in Maili, HI
Job DescriptionProject Manager - Alpha Vertical
Department: Alpha Vertical Reports To: Superintendent Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience
This Is Not a "Keep-the-Lights-On" PM Role
Alpha Inc. is looking for a Project Manager who owns outcomes, not just schedules.
This role is for builders - leaders who thrive in complexity, take pride in execution, and refuse to let details slip through the cracks. You'll be trusted with vertical construction projects that matter - commercial, institutional, and mixed-use work that shapes Hawaiʻi's communities for generations.
If you're energized by accountability, collaboration, and seeing a project through from vision to ribbon-cutting - keep reading.
About Alpha Inc.
Founded and built in Hawaiʻi, Alpha Inc. is a locally owned construction leader spanning heavy civil, vertical construction, concrete, energy, drilling, crane services, and infrastructure solutions.
We don't just build projects - we build long-term trust, strong teams, and lasting impact.
Our work is guided by three core values that show up on every jobsite and in every decision:
Lead with Heart - Respect, humility, and care for people always
Strength in Unity - One team, aligned and accountable
Alpha Mentality - Grit, ownership, and relentless improvement
As a Project Manager, you'll be a carrier of Alpha's culture, not just a manager of tasks.
The Role: Project Manager - Alpha Vertical
You'll lead vertical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, owning performance across schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client experience.
This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong coordination between clients, design teams, subcontractors, and Alpha's field crews.
You'll be expected to think ahead, communicate clearly, and act decisively - while mentoring project engineers and supporting field leadership.
What You'll Own
Project Leadership & Execution
Lead assigned vertical construction projects through all phases: pre-construction, execution, and closeout
Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to Alpha's standards of excellence
Financial & Schedule Control
Develop, manage, and forecast project budgets and schedules
Proactively manage costs, resources, and change to protect margins and momentum
Coordination & Communication
Coordinate closely with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
Review and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders with urgency and accuracy
Lead progress meetings and maintain transparent communication across all stakeholders
Field & Quality Oversight
Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure quality, safety, and contract compliance
Partner with Superintendents to remove obstacles and keep work moving
Risk Management & Problem Solving
Identify risks early and implement practical solutions
Escalate issues appropriately while maintaining ownership and accountability
Team Development
Mentor and support Project Engineers and field staff
Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment rooted in Alpha's values
What an "A Player" Brings to This Role
Experience & Education
4-6+ years of project management experience in vertical construction (commercial, institutional, or mixed-use)
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
PMP or equivalent experience a plus
Skills & Mindset
Strong command of construction scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration
Comfortable managing multiple priorities without losing attention to detail
Proficient with construction/project management software and Microsoft Office
Clear, confident communicator who earns trust with clients and crews alike
Takes ownership, learns fast, and raises the bar for themselves and others
Why Alpha?
Because here, Project Managers are leaders, not paper-pushers.
At Alpha Inc., you'll find:
Meaningful projects that impact local communities
Leadership that trusts and empowers its PMs
A culture where accountability and heart coexist
Long-term growth opportunities within a diversified construction organization
If you're ready to own your projects, develop your team, and build something that lasts, Alpha is the place to do it.
Requirements (Conditions of Employment)
Employment at Alpha Inc. is contingent upon:
Completion of standard pre-employment screening.
Successful completion of a background check conducted after a conditional offer; any prior issues will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis consistent with Hawaiʻi and federal law.
Passing a drug test (for both full-time and part-time hires) conducted in line with Hawaiʻi statutory requirements.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; we are unable to sponsor employment visas. Employment eligibility will be verified upon hire.
If you need a reasonable accommodation during the application or hiring process, please contact us at ***********************.
