Project Consultant Job Description

Support complex customer implementations involving multiple new Avalara products including challenging enterprise level ERP, POS, and ecommerce platform solutions.

Provide leadership and guidance to customers on best practices and use cases to support a variety of business needs.

Develop implementation approach, documentation, and training material to support the launch of new products with Avalara Product Management, Sales, and other Customer Success teams.

Clearly articulate and manage the scope of work for client-initiated projects related to software and data services.
Monitor client projects and solve problems to keep projects moving forward. Drive practice improvements such as documenting business processes and proposing best practices for sales and use tax automation initiatives to streamline the customer onboarding experience. Develop and document business requirements related to business processes, data transformation and reporting. Assist clients with developing and executing testing plans and procedures. Support the sales and account management teams in selling additional tax and professional services. Perform other tasks as assigned.



Qualifications:



Eight or more years of software delivery, preferably within the B2B sector. Strong ability to articulate process logic and technical architecture including building and delivery of functional/technical presentations. Strong ability to understand and conceptualize accounting and tax processes and procedures. Experience working with clients at all organizational levels with a high degree of professionalism and business acumen. Experience with multiple ERP and e-commerce solutions with a focus on sales order/invoicing processes. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required with a demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams. Ability to support cross-functional internal initiatives across the sales, product management and engineering organizations Teamwork-oriented with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and business development. Ability to think strategically, solve problems effectively and tenaciously follow-through to ensure client success. Results-oriented with strong people and time management skills, highly organized, motivated and driven to succeed.

The Role
Deliver innovative solutions to our clients to ensure their buildings are designed with the highest sustainability, health, and wellness standards. Develop and analyze design approaches, alternate systems, and products that offer our clients solutions to their biggest sustainability challenges. You will have ample support for internal growth, offering the opportunity to lead teams and projects as part of a growing global team delivering on national and international projects.
Responsibilities
Manage certification work on projects of all scales and in multiple programs Lead and participate with team members in sustainable design charrettes, workshops, and design competitions. Attend design and construction meetings.Primary focus on East Coast projects with the ability to collaborate on projects across the country and around the globe.Assist clients in goal setting and identifying project-specific targets and metrics as appropriate for the project.Participate/facilitate meetings with project team members to review and document sustainability/certification requirements.Investigate materials and technologies as related to building sustainability, embodied carbon, health, and wellness.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Engineering, or a closely related field. A Master's degree in a similar field is preferred.Background in architectural, engineering, and/or construction fields.3-8 years of experience in building sustainability consulting, architecture, or related fields. LEED Accredited Professional required. Experience with other third-party certifications such as WELL, Fitwel, Passive House, Living Building Challenge preferred.Technical knowledge in the building industry and ability to navigate design and construction documentation. Excellent technical writing and verbal skills.Project management experience: i.e. managing client expectations, managing project teams internally and externally, and managing project schedules and deliverables.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute numerous project responsibilities simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and clients.Proficiency in MS Office suite required.

In the role of Risk Project Consultant, you will have the responsibility of planning, organizing, administering, or leading major risk management programs within a department or across the Bank. In addition, you will also have the responsibility of the development, implementation, enhancement, administration, and management of the Integrated Risk Management technology software solution in broader alignment with the Bank's Integrated Risk Management frameworks and processes.
Functions

* Develop strategies and tactical plans to implement projects.
* Manage resources to ensure that projects are implemented in the most cost-effective manner.
* Negotiate agreements/contracts with outside vendors or entities and ensure commitments are met.
* Communicate the purpose of the project to internal constituencies and/or external customers/community members.
* Develop and implement measures to determine and monitor the effectiveness of projects.
* May provide training to others regarding features and benefits of programs. You may be required to represent the company in the community.
* Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors. You will exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Qualifications

* Extremely strong relationship management and operational abilities, analytical and problem-solving skills, and project management skills.
* Advanced knowledge of enterprise and operational risk management
* Advanced knowledge and experience with development, implementation, and administration of Integrated Risk Management technology software solutions (e.g., ServiceNow, Logic Manager)
* Proven track record of success and skills in risk management operations.
* Knowledge of policies, procedures, practices, and documentation in risk management.
* Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage customer relationships.
* Good negotiating/influencing skills.
* General knowledge of "best practices" in project area.
* Proficiency with personal computers and related software packages such as Word and Excel, and other business machines.
* Ability to train and present to small and large audiences or has the interest in learning to train and present.
* 2-4 years of relevant experience in risk management or Regulatory Compliance.
* Experience with Integrated Risk Management technology software solutions (e.g., ServiceNow, Logic Manager), required.
* Bachelor's Degree in Business, related field, or equivalent, and familiarity with Risk Management or Regulatory Compliance.
