Support includes providing technical expertise to Government decision makers for energy program requirements, interpretation, and development of program guidance, and assists with development of policy/guidance for energy program planning and evaluation.
The Project Developer will:

Conduct and review installation energy project and security assessments; Collect, compile and analyze installation, regulatory, resource, and market background necessary to thoroughly assess and recommend energy project opportunities; Identify holistic installation energy security solutions and path forward to implement via private and/or appropriated funding; and Provide support in the identification and development of a renewable and alternative energy security pipeline and portfolio, including resolving program execution issues, developing and coordinating communications, meetings, and other special projects.


Required Skills

AES is an established and rapidly growing renewable energy company headquartered in Salt Lake City, with additional offices in San Francisco, Long Beach, New York, and Richmond, VA. AES is currently seeking an Associate Project Developer to lead the continued development of its greenfield solar, wind, and energy storage pipeline, with experience in the Renewable Energy Industry with a focus on Photovoltaic Systems.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


Handle new and existing early stage solar, solar + storage and standalone energy storage assets throughout the US, focused on the Southeastern US Coordinate with the internal Land, Permitting, Engineering and Interconnection teams as well as outside consultants on an as needed basis to ensure that projects are meeting development milestones, development risks are being mitigated, and project returns are maximized Initiate and/or support relationships with local jurisdictions to ensure projects are obtaining all possible incentives and have good standing within the local communities Maintain development asset database with core project inputs and status updates Conduct financial modeling and analysis of prospective development projects, as well as maintain current models for the development pipeline Assist in acquisition of development assets and/or platforms on an as needed basis Support the Land, Permitting and Interconnection teams on an as needed basis with research, analysis and in-person meetings or phone calls Support the Commercial Power Marketing teams on an as needed basis for RFP responses and other off-taker outreach Research emerging renewable energy markets and identify new development prospects



Desired Skills and Expertise:


Outstanding organizational, communication, decision making/problem solving, analytical and time management skills. 2+ years' experience administering energy projects and/or project financing of renewable energy projects Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Office.. Able to demonstrate experience dealing successfully with peers, subordinates, management, and unaffiliated third parties Exceptional presentation and communication skills Passion for renewable energy industry BA/BS degree required with concentration in business, finance, economics, engineering, environmental sciences and/or other quantitative/environmental fields

Our Solar Project Developers contribute to the team by:
