Directs construction and maintenance activities at project site, including supervision of design personnel (i.e., engineers, designers, draftsmen) and subcontract personnel assigned to the project. Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents. Manages contractual commitments for contractors including costs, quality, schedule, and field activities. Maintains quality of work in accordance with the standards specified in the design documents. Ensures construction materials are tested to meet quality assurance requirements of the design. Maintains effective communications and coordination between the client and the design engineer to ensure timeliness and accuracy. Inspects construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant engineering field from an accredited institution, Minimum two (2) years project engineering experience. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.8+ billion contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA NextGen Program, national security programs and aviation safety. Specifically, work includes site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA's nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work. Under general supervision of the Program Management Team, performs a variety of office and field engineering assignments related to self-performed or subcontracted design-build infrastructure projects including buildings, communications towers and FAA infrastructure. The project engineer at this level regularly engages in problem analysis and exercises discretion and independent judgment in selecting and applying engineering theories and general industry practices. May give functional guidance to craft or lower-level technical personnel. Willingness to travel to construction site locations is expected. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs various office engineering assignments involving the monitoring and technical evaluation of work in progress on a field construction site. Establishes and maintains liaison with design engineering staff. Reviews and interprets design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and feasibility to perform technical execution of work. Provides resolution for technical engineering problems and coordinates application of solutions. Provides technical guidance to site personnel regarding installations. Review and provide technical assistance with HEMP Shielding, Radio Frequency (RF) Shield and ICD 705 construction requirements. Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Structural Engineering Current Professional Engineer license within the State of Wyoming Minimum of 10 years' experience as structural engineer on large complex multimillion dollar federal construction projects, preferably USACE and/or Department of Defense Non-destructive inspection (NDI) experience. How will you do it? * Coordinate all aspects of assigned projects including estimating, bidding, reporting, client interface, timeline, and day-to-day oversight; specifically: * Develop proposals, cost estimates, and bids. * Manage the submittal and approval process; prepare change requests.
