About the Job: The Project Engineer will ensure safety, inspect plant systems, and support operations across multiple sites across Georgia, including Atlanta, Macon, Columbus, and others. Responsibilities include project management from design to implementation, structural design, plant troubleshooting, technical support for the SHE department, and anything else related to the mining operation. Movement between quarries will be necessary on an almost daily basis. There will also be opportunities to interface with work in other areas of the Division. What You'll Do: Manage Design. Uses AutoCAD to perform design tasks and produce drawings. Draws on internal/external mechanical and civil designer resources as required, who produce the majority of drawings. Inspect. Provides field supervision/inspection services on construction projects. Performs post-project review to ensure key objectives, cost/performance improvements, and rate of return are achieved. Prepare Bid Packages. Prepares bid packages for construction and manages construction contracts. Provide Updates. Provide project updates on a regular basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress. Represent the Company. Represents the company to industry associations, government officials, and public agencies. Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned. Travel. Varies based on projects, up to 25%. Most travel will be in central Georgia. Qualifications Skills You'll Need:Education. BS degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. Mining Engineering degrees considered with substantial civil/mechanical/project experience. License. Being on the path to PE licensure is preferred. Experience. 1-5 years of project management and related experience with experience in a heavy industrial or mining environment. Strong familiarity with project management and engineering software tools, methodologies, and best practices. Recent graduates considered with substantial co-op or other work experience. Basic understanding of preparing a project scope, budget, and timeline. Must have competent knowledge of concrete and steel design, building codes, and construction practices. Fundamental project management skills are desired. Other essential skills include some competency with AutoCAD and being fully functional with the Microsoft Office suite. Leadership Skills. In this role, the Automation Controls Engineer will work with power, controls and information systems to initiate and lead improvements to deliver cost reduction, scrap reduction and process/data reliability. The engineer will implement/support various machine control systems and verify safe and correct operation. Duracell does not offer sponsorship Key Responsibilities: - Duracell does not offer sponsorship * Implement/support various automated controls technologies including PLC systems, control and communication networks, SCADA (server and standalone) systems, PC based Integration software systems, VFD and servo drives, Robotics, vision systems, program and parameter-based instrumentation and other advanced sensor technologies. * Design power distribution systems and verify correct implementation for power generation, transmission, and utilization, including troubleshooting any issues that arise. * Partner with plant technicians, engineers and equipment vendors to deliver control systems upgrades that provide optimal equipment operation to produce quality products at the lowest cost while maintaining the safety of people who interact with equipment. Own the project from concept all the way through technician training and startup. * Pro-actively seek out losses and improvement opportunities throughout the manufacturing plants. * Follow and leverage the proper engineering and project management tools and work processes. * Develops deep mastery in selected areas of technology. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Duracell does not offer sponsorship * Knowledge of PLC, HMI, Servo and VFD Drives and advanced sensor technologies. * Experience defining and writing requirements for automation solutions. * Visions systems, robotic systems, and SCADA systems knowledge and experience are a plus, including ML/AI. * Seeks out knowledge and is able to quickly grasp technical concepts and grow personal expertise. * Manages time effectively by understanding assignment requirements, prioritizing objectives, and scheduling tasks accordingly. * Listens and communicates well in a team environment. * Is analytical; uses sound judgement in decision making by basing decisions on factual information. * Shows personal initiative and drives for results to ensure engineering deliverables meet cost and schedule requirements. * Exhibits high level of integrity and directness/candor. * Can coach and teach new and challenging tasks. * Displays excellent written/oral communication skills. * Quickly adapts to changing environments and business direction. Required Qualifications: * Duracell does not offer sponsorship * Minimum B.S. in Engineering with preference for Electrical or Computer Engineering. Preferred Qualifications: * >3 years of experience in a related field engineering position is desired. * Experience with automated controls technologies. This could include PLC systems, control and communication networks, PC based Integration software systems, VFD and servo drives, Robotics, vision systems, program and parameter-based instrumentation and other advanced sensor technologies. * Experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) applications. This Includes distributed automation control applications, data archiving, automation software applications, virtual server control, application database and reporting tools. Knowledge of high-level programming languages is a plus. Travel: * This position involves 10-25%, or more, travel (domestic and potentially international) as needed, to successfully deliver the key responsibilities.
