YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL INCLUDE: This person works as part of a multi-discipline project team on projects in the Buildings, Energy, and Infrastructure group, in support of Mechanical (HVAC, plumbing and fire protection) systems for facility types including healthcare; higher education; institutional; federal, state and local government; K-12 education and support; and other commercial/industrial facilities. Serves as a primary mechanical design engineer for projects, producing design/construction drawings under the supervision of more-senior staff. Assists with evaluations of existing mechanical equipment/systems and prepares design computations and assessments. Generates mechanical design/construction drawings utilizing REVIT and AutoCAD software. Observes mechanical construction progress as directed by more senior staff and generates field observation reports. Is responsible for completion of mechanical design tasks within budget and on schedule. Assists with designs, writing of reports and correspondence with other discipline professionals, as well as representatives of the Client organization to help complete work efficiently. WHAT YOU NEED: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering -OR-- Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical focus, from an ABET-accredited university. 2-4 years of documented applicable experience, working on facilities for healthcare; higher education; institutional; federal, state, and local government; K-12 education & support; and other commercial/industrial facilities. Resides in the greater Central Florida area, such as within one of the following counties: Orange, Seminole, Volusia, Brevard, Osceola and Lake; Or is willing to relocate to the aforementioned counties. Ability to work in person a minimum of three (3) days weekly in the local office located in east Orlando, Florida right next to the UCF campus. Ability to travel to project locations and client meetings throughout east and north Florida. Travel beyond this primary area may occasionally also be required. Significant applicable experience using Autodesk REVIT and AutoCAD MEP. Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of software, as well as Bluebeam. Strong knowledge of the FBC Mechanical code and ASHRAE standards commensurate with their years of experience. Ability to climb ladders and perform typical field survey duties of existing facilities. Possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record. Pass a drug test.
