About the Company
The NYC Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) is seeking a highly experienced NG911 Integration Engineer / Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the continued implementation, integration, and testing of the City's Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG911) emergency call handling platform. This role will play a critical part in the Class 1, 2, and 3 upgrades, focusing on system integration, interface validation, and end-to-end testing across public safety IT environments.
About the Role
Provide expert-level guidance throughout the integration and testing lifecycle of the NG911 system. Ensure interoperability between public safety subsystems and NG911 core components.
Responsibilities
Lead and support integration and testing of NG911 systems and subsystems.
Coordinate integration activities between public safety IT platforms and the NG9-1-1 core environment.
Facilitate technical integration planning sessions and track action items.
Collaborate with project leads, vendors, and subcontractors to review and document system interfaces.
Develop and execute System Integration Testing (SIT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) test cases.
Identify and assess integration risks, providing mitigation strategies.
Support SDE team in configuring, validating, and testing interfaces in staging environments.
Verify interfaces in the production environment prior to cutover.
Participate in end-to-end system integration testing, ensuring full call flow and routing validation.
Provide technical support during production cutovers and stabilization.
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience with relevant technical platforms and 15+ years overall professional experience.
Required Skills
Strong understanding of OSI Layers 1-7, with emphasis on Layer 3 routing and Layer 4-7 service delivery.
Experience integrating systems across multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Fortinet, F5, NICE, MSCI, client systems).
Hands-on knowledge of NG911 Core Services (NGCS) integration points: ESRP, ECRF/LVF, CHS.
Advanced troubleshooting using Wireshark, packet captures, syslogs, SNMP traps.
Experience validating call flows, routing scenarios, and supporting live production cutovers.
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks: NIST 800-53, CJIS, OTI Cyber Command.
