Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop new products and components using 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD).
Optimize existing product designs for performance, manufacturability, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
Develop and execute test plans to validate product performance (e.g., flex life), material compatibility, and compliance with industry standards (FDA, USP Class VI, 3-A).
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot production issues, improve processes, and develop necessary tooling and fixtures.
Research, select, and qualify appropriate elastomers, plastics, and other materials for demanding sanitary applications.
Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and other technical documentation.
Analyze test data and prepare clear, concise technical reports.
Provide technical support to sales, customer service, and clients as a subject matter expert.
Represent the company by attending and participating in industry standards committee meetings (e.g., ASME BPE, 3-A, EHEDG).
Manage engineering projects from initial concept through to production release.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or a closely related field.
3+ years of experience in a mechanical design or product development role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD preferred).
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials science (especially elastomers and polymers), and manufacturing processes (e.g., molding, machining).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Direct experience with the design of gaskets, seals, or diaphragms.
Knowledge of sanitary design principles and standards (e.g., FDA, 3-A, USP Class VI).
Experience in the food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industries.
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
