As a Mechanical Design Engineer on Oklo's Fuel Fabrication team, you'll be responsible for engineering design solutions that bring our advanced reactor technology to life. You'll focus on technical validation, analysis, and performance of the design. You'll work on high-impact technical challenges, designing manufacturing equipment components and mechanical systems that comprise Oklo's fuel manufacturing facilities. You'll ensure designs meet demanding performance, safety, and regulatory standards while collaborating closely with designers, analysts, and fabricators to bring systems from concept to commissioning. Your work will span concept generation, CAD modeling, analysis coordination, documentation, and fabrication readiness - culminating in manufacturable designs that meet demanding performance and regulatory requirements. Project Engineer Advisor to Project Management Reports to Project Manager Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Engineer plays a crucial role in bridging technical mining expertise with mining operations by providing insights through engineering guidance, driving operational efficiency, financial accountability, and long-term project success. This position is responsible for analyzing operational data, preparing engineering designs/operational GPS support, conducting field data collection, and production forecasting. The Project Engineer provides design, project management, floodplain management and support services for City infrastructure and capital improvement projects. Computational Thermal-Hydraulics Engineer - (23434) Description The Reactor Systems and Heat Transport department at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a highly motivated Computational Thermal-Hydraulics Engineer to support advanced modeling and simulation efforts for nuclear energy systems at our Idaho Falls, Idaho location. Our team works a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. This position focuses on high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics (CFD), thermal-hydraulics, and verification and validation (V&V) of simulation tools and experimental benchmarks. The successful candidate will contribute to national and international collaborative efforts, supporting the development of next-generation nuclear technologies. Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute CFD models using tools such as STAR-CCM+ and nek RS for thermal-hydraulic analysis. Perform high-fidelity simulations including Large Eddy Simulations (LES) and Direct Numerical Simulations (DNS). Conduct benchmarking and validation studies using experimental data from national and international facilities. Support verification and validation (V&V) activities for independent analysis and regulatory-grade assessments. Analyze and compare simulation results across multiple institutions and tools to identify trends and discrepancies. Apply NEAMS tools for thermal-hydraulic modeling and analysis of nuclear systems. Model natural convection systems, including radiative heat transfer effects. Prepare technical reports, peer-reviewed publications, and presentations for sponsors and conferences. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including experimentalists, analysts, and software developers. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering or directly related engineering degree from an ABET-accredited institution and (2) years of related experience or Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering or closely related field from an ABET-accredited institution. Preferred Qualifications:Ph. D. in Nuclear Engineering or a closely related field from an ABET-accredited institution. Hands-on experience with CFD tools such as STAR-CCM+ and nek RS. Knowledge of high-fidelity simulation methods (LES, DNS). Experience with V&V methodologies and benchmarking of experimental facilities. Familiarity with NEAMS thermal-hydraulic modeling tools. Understanding of natural convection and radiative heat transfer in nuclear systems. Experience with dry cask storage modeling and re-criticality simulations. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or FORTRAN for data processing and automation. Familiarity with high-temperature gas-cooled reactors and advanced reactor concepts.
